    Ice cleats

Thanks boys, I checked the Yaktrax website and it turns out there's several dealers close-by so I'll have a look at them next time I go to town. If they don't work out, I'll have a look at the ones from MEC

    Ice cleats

Yeah, I've heard of guys putting screws in their boots, but Id prefer a decent strap-on instead. Thanks for the suggestion though. And NO Brian, there's no ice fishing in my future
  3. I bought a couple sets of ice cleats from CTC last year but they don't work well and am looking for something better for this coming winter. I found these on the LeBaron website catalogue and wondered if anyone has used them and are they any good. Their not for frozen lakes, but more for when the Mrs. and I go for daily hikes along ice covered dirt roads. Any thoughts ??
  4. Mostly around 4-5 MPH
  5. Always enjoy seeing folks helping critters in distress. That guy did an exceptional job there.
  6. Good stuff Will, some big fish and beautiful scenery to go along with them. Pretty nice way to spend a day.
  7. Wow, that is definetely a work of art.... just beautiful !! Just hope he doesn't open the window for some fresh air.
  8. Nice one Paul, great to see you had some luck out there. Good yakkin with you & Mike too after all this time.
  9. How'd you guys make out Paul, any luck with the pickerel ??
  10. Pretty little fish you got there Stoty. Never caught one myself, or even seen one for that matter, but it'd be nice to get one just to have the picture.
  11. Every once in awhile I slip over to the dark side Larry
  12. It's been 2 days and I'm still not hungry Really enjoyed the weekend Mike and hopefully we'll hook up again.
  13. Thanks Mike, that's much more flattering than when my wife refers to me as the old goat
  14. Atta boy Dave, 1st place is always a good thing !!
  15. Good eye Bob, it's a Skeeter WX1880
  16. Thanks guys, it was an enjoyable weekend for sure. Actually Roy, temps were 63-64. Pretty choppy on Saturday but not so bad Sunday. We lucked out with the rain though as it stayed away all day Saturday and then started early Sunday but stopped before we hit the water. Started up again Sunday just as I got the boat loaded on the trailer and then pretty well rained all the way home. Can't ask for better than that.
  17. We always do a fall musky trip to the St. Lawrence River and Mike Rousseau (formerly Musky Mike) said he'd like to join us this year. Turned out my regular partner couldn't make it this time so Mike and I decided to hook up anyways. I hauled my boat down to Eastern Ontario Friday afternoon, booked into my favorite B&B for the weekend and then met Mike at the boat ramp Saturday morning. The day started off slow but after a few hours of trolling Mike hooked into the 1st fish. A tough girl that pulled out 25' of tight drag when she hit. It took a few seconds to cut the hooks free so Mike decided to err on the side of caution and not worry about taking a picture. We trolled another 30 minutes and then it was my turn with this girl. She hit the bait and immediately came 3' outta the water which is always fun to see, specially in the colder water. Fast pic and she was off again. We fished till dusk then called it a day and headed in while we watched the sunset which is always a great way to top off a successful day on the water. Sunday morning we headed for Quebec waters to giver another shot. A couple hours into the troll and this pretty lady hammered my bait. Another great fight, a couple pics and off she went with a wag of her tail and a wave goodbye. I always try to be gentle with my muskies but some times the ladies don't appreciate it and get a bit nasty. I spose it's only fair for them to take a few shots back every now & then. This girl had some really unique colours on her too. There was an almost straight line down her back with different colours on either side, even her stripes changed 1/2 way down her side. Very nice looking fish. That was it for the weekend but we had a great time together and hopefully we'll do it again next year. Pretty sure Mike became a convert though and realized how nice full windshield boats really are. He started driving my boat Saturday morning and and never gave it back to me until we were finished on Sunday Saturday afternoon we ran into Mike the Pike and Mercman out on the water so we shot the bull with them for awhile too. Good meeting you boyz !! It was 800 Km of driving for 2 days of fishing but it was well worth it. Lotsa laughs, some good food, good times, and a few nice fish to go along with it
  18. If you like Chinese food there's a great little place right beside the motel, and across the street from there is a 24 hr Timmies. The marina is just north of the motel and at the far end of the pier is a nice restaurant where the group of us go for breakfast every morning.
  19. I had a pair of Walleye 1 deep cycles in my last boat and they were flawless for 8 years. Fully charge your batteries after every use and they should last a long time.
  20. And we always have a blast !!
  21. I've been a very lucky guy and in the 10 1/2 years I've been hanging around this board I've had the pleasure of fishing with almost 70 different members. We've boated 100's of nice fish together and even been skunked a bunch, but we ALWAYS had a great time And I've never met an OFNer (OFCer)I didn't like
  22. I redeemed myself though, traded it in on a '65 Parissiene convertible.
  23. I was getting ready for supper until I read this post, now I'm afraid to eat anything
  24. I owned a '61 back in the day...fun little car. Identicle to this one, minus the flat tire
  25. Fantastic news and congratulations to your entire family !!
