  1. Absolutely pathetic.
  2. Well, they did it again. Couple inches of snow coming down and once again, they did the broadcast from the salt yards 10 minutes ago
  3. Thanks Phil, losing a child is probably the toughest thing anyone will ever go through and something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
  4. I watch CTV news from Toronto every evening and they break me up constantly with their weather talk. Seems every time their gonna get an inch of snow they do the broadcast from the city salt yards and explain how many salters and plows are ready to tackle the "storm" I dunno about anyone else but I think we've had a pretty easy winter but to listen to those guys it could be the worst winter in years. But speaking of an easy winter, as I look out the front window I can't even see across the lake it's snowing so hard
  5. What I wouldn't give to have my son back for even one hour.
  6. When it happened to me in Oshawa in November and I told them I wouldn't pay the fee, the clerk said it was strictly voluntary and in no way was I obligated to let them rip me off and the fee was withdrawn from my bill.
  7. Many years ago my Mom's sister slipped on the ice on the sidewalk in front of her house and hit her head very hard and whatever damage it caused, it completely paralysed her down one side of her body, much like a serious stroke would do. It's scary how fast a simple fall can completely ruin the rest of your life.
  8. Looks like Ajax council has decided to let the skating rink remain as it is for the remainder of the winter and then take another look at the bi-laws against front yard structures.
  9. What I did today is just a jury rig Cliff but I may upgrade it yet and keep the new piece as a spare or whatever.
  10. Lakefield, north of Peterboro, now has a walk-in clinic basically for non residents or locals without a family doctor who need attention but it also handles mini-emergencies for anyone which will help take some of the strain off the hospital emergency room. My wife had a problem back in November after some major surgery and our family doctors office was closed but the clinic took her immediately and got her all fixed up. Not sure but I think these clinics are opening across the province.
  11. It was a musky that snapped it but she was able to spit it.
  12. Be careful what you wish for
  13. Yup, but the price never comes down on the cheap disposable garbage. I'm heading out to the shop shortly to make up a temporary stand to hold the screen and it'll be far superior to what came OEM
  14. I hear ya Dave, if the copper tried to justify giving that ticket he'd probably be laughed outta court....and so he should be.
  15. Here we go
  16. Got my part ordered from a supplier for $12 in Mississaugua and should have it in a week or so. Thanks boyz. Life would be much easier if important weight bearing parts for expensive electronics weren't being made out of cheap plastic crap to save a dollar.
  17. I had to look Fonthill up on GOOGLE but see now your correct, for what it would cost me in gas $$$$ to get to your shop I could buy a new monitor But I do thank you for the offer.
  18. Thanks for the offer Cliff, I've got a number for a Canadian LG parts supplier I'm gonna call this morning who hopefully has the plastic bit I need plus the guy in Lakefield.
  19. Good to hear everythings OK Cliff.
  20. That's probably better than being a liability Chris LOL
  21. Or more
  22. And I also remember wearing steel cleats on my heels so they WOULDN'T wear out George. Trouble was though, the shoes would be 15 years out of style before they needed to be replaced
  23. Thanks Dax, it's definitely a great day but I don't think I've been to the show since I moved up here 5 years ago.
  24. I still laugh every time I think of the nasty nasty PM I received after making that post, that was some really funny stuff Mike No, I won't be going to the show this year, I don't fish much anymore and don't use even a fraction of the gear I have now. Maybe it's time for a garage sale LOL
  25. Yeah, good customer service like that goes a VERY long way.
