  1. Like I said I can't wait until we can get more bandwidth to stream, bye bye Bell.
  2. You would be surprised at what an average person is able to understand once it has been explained clearly. I then might as well be able to join the conversation. Just post some links so we all can read the entire text not the GBayGiant abridged versions. Your typing and grammar is getting in the way of you getting any good points across. Your writing is getting very difficult to understand and not everyone knows all the acronyms you know. Please I'm not trying to be a wise cracker critic, just take some time writing before pushing the post button.
  3. I thought Manchester By The Sea was going to be a chick flic, no way. A real heart breaker. I won't spoil it, see it Academy Award winner for Casey Affleck and he deserved it. I can't say I enjoyed Designated Survivor at all. Even with commercials I gave it a shot because I really like Keefer Sutherland. He plays Jack Bower as POTUS, I know he is talking because I hear him but his lips don't move. We have checked out most all of the Oscar winners over the winter. I fell asleep during BLA BLA Land. The right Oscar winner was announced right the first time. I could watch Jennifer Lawrence recite the phone book. A great Canadian movie I liked over the winter was the movie about the Canadian Forces fighting the Taliban out of Kandahar Airbase Afghanistan starring Keefer Sutherlands son Rossif Sutherland and Paul Gross. Hyena Road. Excellent flic and well produced.
  4. Add Leftovers to that list as well as the only TV with commercials we suffer through every 4 minutes " Better Call Saul". These are all well made movies every week. We need to give Canadian TV a closer look. It's the incessant commercials that stop us from peeking at them. Canuck productions are so much better than they once were.
  5. I should have simply asked how will the sick that need the med MJ become criminals? Less typing. Saying something is easy to do, happens regularly not just on the Internet. Backing it up with quantifiable even qualifiable proof is another thing entirely.
  6. GBG it is both naïve and an embellishment to say a 17 year old will do hard time for a MJ conviction, 14 years for trafficking to a minor by a minor? C'mon man a minor doesn't get 14 years for 2nd degree murder in this country. I am more than willing to be educated on the medical advantages on weed, I can change my opinions on anything based on good solid information and education. Criminalize the sick? If someone sick breaks the law then I guess it is a crime. Recent changes to the maximum amount of Opiates that an individual can be prescribed by their Physician has been reduced by 50% in Ontario. So someone in real pain that has already surpassed the dosage now allowed can not get an increase no matter how the body has acclimatized to the dosage. So they go out and get it where ever they can to control the pain. And that person has no clue if those meds made in a lab on some farm by self taught pharmacists. So now a good law abiding tax paying citizen becomes a criminal because of those that abuse pain meds. That I can see happening with medical marijuana but how much marijuana does one person need at a time, 20 grams, 30, 40? How much weed will 4 plants yield, 3 lbs. 2, 1 lb? Plus it is also available at dispensaries, will the amount prescribed include that grown at home? I need facts not opinions GBG. This thread has changed my attitude and opinion somewhat concerning weed. I do however know many that have applied and received their Med. Marijuana cards and are as healthy as a horse. They are perusing the card simply to make dealing it less risky. Why would a person suddenly have to drive 60 miles to see his or her new Doc after having the same Dr. for 25 years down the street? Of course legislation isn't going to be easy, and they will most certainly get it wrong. So I suggest you use your knowledge and education to help get it right rather than complain and critique situations that are until now hypothetical. Join a citizens committee to help the Politicos get it right. I'm sure there a few out there. Or start one yourself.
  7. Haven't caught John Wick 2. I liked the first one after I stopped yelling at the screen and realized it is only a movie. There is no such human weapon as John Wick. Plus I cried when he smashed up the classic cars, no CG there but the new fake Chargers should all be totalled.
  8. They used to say June 30th was tax free day after that, 50% of annual wages was taxes. What is it now? December 31st.
  9. You are 110% Mr. Bunker. Like taking 2 months off from the gym (in the old days) and getting back into it. A body sprain for a week. We went 5 pin bowling 3 weeks ago. Most I have done all winter and haven't missed a Sunday since. Once all the swelling and the legs bi-cep killing me went away I have never felt as good in a very long while. Need to break up all that scar tissue. Motion is the lotion, I need to keep that one, thanks Drew.
  10. Grimsby, I highly recommend a coat of Maguire's fibre glass de-oxidiser before the wax this time of year. I know it is made for glass rigs but gets all that winter grime out in the spring. My aluminum boat shines like out of the factory after a coat of Mothers in the spring, going on 24 years old. I might give it a quick shot of Nu Finish during the year and before the winter. Also a quick cleaning of Maguire's on he engine cowl when the sun starts backing it in the summer. I keep the de oxidiser in the boat and when the fishing is slow is when I do it. Multi tasker I am.
  11. Rented "Passengers" with Chris Pratt, Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Sheen. It was a lot more than I expected. Swiss Family Robinson in 500 years from now, or a good Lost in Space, Michael Sheen plays the robot. I recommend it. This isn't movie time of year but we don't do much anymore after dark, I didn't say nothing after dark.
  12. Did you get supper Sir? I was very surprised not to see a single trailer in the lot. Not even Fish Farmers. Exactly. On a side note, insomnia strikes again. Tired as all heck and can't fall asleep.
  13. Enjoy getting out as much as you all can while you can and never take it for granted. We all have different DNA. I remember heading to El Jobean while it was dark when we had the place in Florida. Got back about 1PM and cooked up our catch. Around 3PM I find myself watching a fishing show on TV. I thought are you out of your mind man? 5 minutes to the pier and here I am watching a fishing show on TV and guys home are scrapping ice off the car. We went back out until 7. Enjoy it while you can, as much as you can. I was single then too. The first road trip with my now wife was a week at the camp on the Ottawa, no bathroom or running water. She was a 5* hotel room kinda girl. She hung in there for a week and never made a peep. And she said she would go back. That was 25 years ago, a keeper and personal best.
  14. If it wasn't a Honda I would tell you to scrap it. Used Hondas sell well, even a nearly 15 year old Accord. I don't know about the 3 grand. I am not the guy to ask about Kijiji. I would go the Auto Trader route and list it on the classifieds here as well as any other forum you may be a member. Selling privately will get you up to 60% more than a trade in will get you. Especially a Honda. To some that extra money isn't worth selling privately. Like a boat it's condition that will sell a used anything. Detail and wax the thing back o life. If it has many scratches don't wax it, only shows scratches more. You can bring a shine back by just using a de-oxidizer though , like Maguire's. A manual tranny has been called a Millennial Anti-Theft Device.
  15. GBG, I understand this won't be easy what I don't understand is your pre determined negativity. I would have thought you would be celebrating this new positive movement towards legalization. Your statement concerning harsher penalties for selling weed to minors is disturbing. You aren't in favour of harsh penalties for selling weed to minors? I don't understand if you aren't. Don't compare poor old laws to getting it right now. Selling booze or smokes to kids should have the same consequences as selling dope to them. I don't get your point about the disparity between the two.
  16. Had to swing by Dunnville today so I drove to the park and pier at the end of the Grand River, Port Maitland. It was wonderful to see at least 50 people shore fishing there and families going for a stroll, what a beauty of a Good Friday. So anyway, everyone always fishes the river side along the park and the pier. I walk along the west side of the pier and peek down in the water and see a pod of Perch feeding. I walked over to a few oldtimes (my age probably) and tell them I see fish on the other side. " A terse "we're good buddy" is their reply. A young family is about 40 feet away and I tell them the same thing. "Thank you very much Sir" and the young husband goes over and peeks over the wall, he moves the 2 kids and wife there and set up. Before he could set up the second kid, kid #1 has a fish on. Not 5 minutes latter "oldtimers" are setting up 2 feet from them. I couldn't help myself and asked the oldtimers "I thought you were good?" By the time I got to the lot most were fishing that side of the pier. I don't blame them all but give someone more than 2 feet of room. I think the fish were there because of protection from the NW wind and I told that to young Dad after he thanked me again and commented they never fish that side. Everyday fishing is different.
  17. When any team regularly loses games because of poor play in the last period or 4th quarter the reason is usually poor conditioning.
  18. I don't see anything wrong with what Cranks said Sinker. As far as living in a dictatorship, we certainly do. A 1000th of a percent more then what 50% of voters chose dictates what the other 80% of the population will live with. At times only 40% of eligible voters cast a ballot, 50% of those is really around 20% of the total population dictating what 80% will live with.
  19. Law enforcement is key, or I should say lack thereof. Cops resources are stretch to the limit as is. Chasing bad fishermen and unruly whippersnappers with nothing more to do than make noise and a mess is not high on their list of priorities. Just look at local news every AM and you know the Cops have more important things to do.
  20. Yea, that's what you need up there with a 50 cal Moose controller.
  21. Good for you Geoff. So that's how you spell rapport. Big Dave, there is a Marina here in Port Dover that builds utility boats on site, or they did, but I know they have them in their compound. All aluminum and built like Humvees. The Province bought a few for MNR. Italo had one for a while. One is a front end loader if you know what I mean, don't know the proper marine jargon. I saw a video where they were using it as a Ice Breaker. Bridges Yachts Port Dover Ontario.
  22. I hope you got the sale. You got the "develop report with the customer" part down.
  23. Had last ice out on Erie in 2014. Not good for the perch hunters. The boats are starting to show up on the lower Grand and Port Maitland, finally.
  24. To answer the OP's actual question. My favorite brand of boats is a StarCraft. There are many SC owners and I have never heard of one complain about them, mine is going on 23 years old with the original 115HP Mariner and original everything else, I think Sinker and I have basically the same boat. Ooops I have a complaint. The zipper on my convertible top is stuck I found out today and the 23 year old rug is worn at the fuel filler, a bit. I don't tend to abuse mine cosmetically because it is probably my last boat. I've had plenty of Kudo's at the ramp. Last week I was offered more than I paid for it 9 years ago. Then what am I going to do? Replace it for more than 50 grand? There are currently 4 StarCraft's in our group of fisher buddies here. Mine is he newest, the serial number says 94 the registration says 95. The production year of your boat is the last 2 numbers on the serial number stamping. Most aluminums serial numbers are stamped and riveted on the starboard side on the transom. Glass boats serial numbers can be found on the port side inside the splash well usually.
  25. If a youngster came to me and said "I am going to abuse booze or weed, what should I choose" I would tell him neither but for argument sake I would tell him or her weed for sure, hands down. I would always rather deal with someone stoned on weed than hammered on booze. I have never heard of someone high on weed rob a bank with a weapon. Maybe a slow speed chase ala "Up in Smoke". I caught the tail end on the radio today when the Minister of Health Canada was laying out proposed guidelines for weed. She did say 18 years and older holding 30 grams or less will not be a chargeable offense. 4 plants grown at home no more than a metre high will be allowed. That's all I caught, any details i.e. date of implementation?
