Spend the 100 bucks and take it in to a Marine mechanic. Sometimes you just have to "call the guy". Have you done a compression test? It takes all of 10 minutes.

My wife's cat drags home rabbits when the neighbours Husky is visiting, "there you big white fur ball sitting on my deck" is what he is thinking, I swear. He brings smelts up on the deck for me to use as bait. Cats are scary smart. My wife says "Cats rule Dogs drool".

We have been getting big thunder boomers here on Erie all night and today. All the creeks and streams are over full. Farmers fields look like reservoirs today. Keep the pets and yourselves away from these torrents. I wonder why in NY Bass fishing before the 3rd Saturday in June doesn't harm the fish but here it does? Personally I don't think fishing pre spawn Bass does anything to the species. Maybe make then off limits from say May 1st to the end of June when they are spawning in the shallows and sitting on the beds. Many years there are bedding Bass here a week after opening, especially after a bad winter. 2012 and 2013 for example.

I totally understand that John, I have learned batteries have a specific number of times that can discharge below 20% then won't take a charge. If under warranty return them, get fresh batteries and then troubleshoot the problem. I have bought new batteries that were faulty before installing, more than once. Batteries sold in the spring are most likely those that sat on a shelf all winter. Check the manufacture date before buying. The 2 Deep Cycle that I bought were bad were 2 years old. I should have explained my thinking.

You can 50 buck yourself to death trying to self diagnose a problem, plugs, wires, fuel line, bulb, fuel filter, power pack, and, and. I might spend the $100.00 and take I into a marine mechanic and get a definitive cause and a quote then DIY.

Been enjoying some quality time with my oldest
Old Ironmaker replied to misfish's topic in General Discussion
Good for you man. It is important to be close to your kids as much as possible. The older I got the smarter my father got. He will be 90 this Sunday and we went for a beer together this past Saturday (he put a 5 dollar bill on the table and said he will buy the beers that was funny). We unfortunately were never really close but time heals all wounds, that was then, now is now. None of my close friends can do that anymore because their Pops are all gone now and I can appreciate I still can. -
No only 1 rod each in the river. On Lake Erie you can use 2 per fisherman. Don't forget the camera and sound man can put out a rod as well.

I'm sitting here wondering what in Sam Hell is a bowe, oh a BALL. 2 countries separated by a common language. My wife asks me "what are you watching that's so funny?" I tell her I'm watching a guy play go fetch with his dog. She says I need to get a life.

I strongly suggest anyone that owns a boat join iboats.com. There is a good group of experts there that I have learned a lot from. You have been given all good info here. I would run a weed whacker line up the overflow tube, all sorts of things can get lodged in there from algae to insects. Don't forget the water to the outboard needs to get up in temp before it opens. 5 seconds isn't long enough, especially with cold water from the hose this time of year. A leak in the fuel line will stop the engine, as suggested pump the bulb while it is running then cut the end off and put a new hose clamp on as you were going to do. I know of guys here that have never changed the impellor after 20 years or more. Mine was 30 bucks for my 115HP Mariner. I would expect an hours labour from a Marina mechanic. It should take a pro less than an hour. Call and ask. You may have a bad primer bulb, happened to me last year, the one I had only lasted 3 years. Make sure the arrow from the fuel line bulb is pointing to the engine, yes I did just last year when I changed a cracked bulb and that cost me 90 bucks for a marina to tell me. I had a new line and it was too long so I looped it and thought the bulb was pointing in the right direction, wrong. The engine actually started by pumping the bulb and ran well then stalled at 2000 RPM. Being in a rush cost me 100 bucks. Change the fuel filter while you are at it. It can be plugged too. Join iboats.com Best of luck, buy a new to you motor and it won't run sucks big time. A lesson to us all about buying without running it, at least with the muffs on. Even the thing may idle great in the driveway and won't run under load. Found that out last year when buddy swapped out his 350HP Mercruiser only to find it stalled at 3000 RPM. To anyone, what is the proper name for muffs? Sometimers moment.

I'm glad I re watched it. I have mono for my leaders, should have braid.

The free launch is good as long as there isn't a south wind, it can bang around your boat real good. Fishmaster's launch was 5 bucks last year. Cut sucker is what they sell there at Fishmaster's. Like I said uncooked shrimp works some days suckers don't. It isn't complicated fishing. Find a hole, toss in the line and wait. Go to You tube and watch Charlie Wray's video fishing there on the Grand. He has made a few shows with the Fishmaster, Steve Hardcastle. I'm positive you will find the video. Fishfull Thinking is Charlie's TV show. From Whitby to Dunnville is not really much further than to Jordan. QEW to Red Hill Valley Parkway South, 56 HWY south to HWY 3 east to Dunnville. The short cut is to go through Caisterville. Here I found it for you.

He has severe PTSD and panic disorder. Sometimes when he gets a fish on he gets so worked up he has a panic attack. If he loses the fish oh my. He has to pop a pill under his tongue. His hands shake so much fishing he can't put a lure on a line. Sad to see as 10 years ago he was fine. A very bad childhood and things just came to a boil when he hit 40. You could write a book about this kid and not believe it, like a little brother to all my Family. We've known him since he was 15 and he was living on the streets when my brother found him and brought him home for dinner one night and he stayed for 6 months. He loves fishing.

26.5 seconds left down by 1. Anything is possible......................not tonight. 1st game I have watched this season, most of it. Can they take my citizenship away? Grapes says neither of these guys can stop a beachball. -
I have a pal that fishes with me on occasion and he unfortunately has a mental disability and receives a disability pension for it. I don't think he needs a fishing licence, if he had a disabled parking permit it would be simple but he is physically fit as a fiddle. If anyone can explain to me what the hell is meant from the 2017 regs. I have copied below. How can he prove he requires direct assistance from another person to fish? A letter from his Dr. maybe. The 4 prescriptions he is on? I don't know. Thanks. 2. any licence, permit, certificate or identification card issued by the Government of Canada or a provincial or territorial government of Canada that indicates the persons name and date of birth. This individual must require the direct assistance of another person to fish and to follow applicable laws in respect of fishing because of a condition of mental impairment or a developmental disability, a learning disability or dysfunction or a mental disorder. The person accompanying the above person does not require a fishing licence if they are only assisting, but must have a licence if they wish to engage in fishing.

The lower Grand is your best chance for Cats, and some big Kitties too. If you see my Blue on White StarCraft say hi. Go out of Fishmasters and get some of his stinky bait. Along with some uncooked shrimp. Use circle hooks and a heavy slip weight of at least 3/4 oz. Put a bead where the wt. hits the swivel. We've caught them trolling worm harnesses and a worm this time of year too. I wouldn't bother with Jordan. Good eaters too this time of year.

I think that is a good price if in CDN funds Kevin, it's all about budget. I wouldn't stress about not reading temp on a unit. It only reads surface temp anyway. It is what it is, no one is not going to fish because of what the temp is, are they? Move your old unit up front and mount the transducer on the head of your prop with a large hose clamp. Wire it to your trolling motor battery.

Aaaron Hernandez commits suicide
Old Ironmaker replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
No sympathy for him, the opposite. Justice works in many ways. -
If they are new return them.

Anyone that follows the NFL will know the story of this waste of life, Aaron Hernandez. NFL star to convicted murderer. He wanted to be a gang banger and he was. I don't ever revel at the death of a person, but I have mixed emotions on this idiot. He leaves behind people that loved him including his innocent 4 year old daughter. http://www.wcvb.com/article/aaron-hernandez-commits-suicide-in-prison/9527659

Thanks M2B2, my wife sent me the pic, I didn't think it was funny in the least. I'm gonna need a bigger boat too. I went through an old knap sac the other day and found a plastic bag in it and to my surprise I found 2 dozen plugs of all kinds. The receipt said 2015. I didn't even remember where I had bought them. There is a liquidation outlet called Channel Control off of Wayne Gretsky Parkway south of the 403. It is hit and miss as far as inventory. These plugs I bought were 3 for 10 bucks and included name brands like Rappala, Storm and Cotton Cordel. Bought 2 Shimano spinning rods for 22 bucks each. The next time I went in zero fishing stuff. That day I bought 4 Brinkman 4 burner, NG or propane BBQ's for $140.00 each and 4 extra large covers for 15 bucks each. I should have bought them out. I made enough that helped cover the gas and oil for the Bassassin for the season. Check the place out if you are around the Brantford/Hamilton area. Want good clothing cheap, they always have rows and rows of clothing.

NEW DRONE REGULATIONS....what a crock!
Old Ironmaker replied to limeyangler's topic in General Discussion
I gotta get me one of them there Choppers. I have been looking for something like that since the first time I got caught in Toronto traffic. Probably would have to sell everything we own to buy one. -

My favorite eats for this time of the year!
Old Ironmaker replied to jimmer's topic in General Discussion
Haven't eaten a Blue Gill for years, I know some Yanks that only fish for them and Sunnys. My favorite meal this time of year is any fish straight out of the water, even Silver Bass if eaten day 1 or 2, after that even if frozen fresh they go off. A lady I know served us a Sheepshead chowder a few years back, and it was good too! Lots of Tabasco helps. I missed the Catfish fry today with the crew, hopefully I will boat a few this Friday if we don't get rained out like today.
