  1. $20 each sounds about right. I'll second that the reel performs much better. It's a good investment.
  2. Yup, too bad, he was one heck of an actor. I was watching something over the weekend about Michael Moore's movie and Charton Heston being misquoted and set up. That guy is a jerk!! Before anyone starts on the gun policies of the U.S., remember a bit about their history, if some people did not have guns back in the 1700's, there would not be a US of A.
  3. Happy B-Day!!! May you have many more!!!!
  4. Jeez!!! I am not a snake lover, that's for sure. I saw one in a glass case at the zoo and that was enough for me!! I don't want to run into one out in the bush, I'd probably have a heart attack.
  5. Quantum without a doubt!!! I have the older Energy PT and the current Tour Edition PT. They are awesome, they have great drags and are very very smooth. Also, with Daiwa, if you have warranty or repair issues, I've heard they can be a bit slow, quantum is fast. The Accurist PT is the model with the flippin' switch. The Energy PT is a step up from that one.
  6. Who rents on Rice for 50bucks?? I'm in for that this summer.
  7. Asking most people for money for something like this would be a waste of time!! It would cost tens of thousands of dollars to fight with good legal representation. People care up until you ask them for some money, once that happens, they tend to disappear and not be heard from again. It's unfortunate but it is human nature.
  8. Happy b-day!!! You don't look a day over 25 (LOL)!!! May you have another 46 healthy and happy years!!
  9. Try to let her have some time for herself, send her to a day spa so she can get all gussied up and to feel pretty again. Give her a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen to the rants and raves. Be patient. For you, try to get out and catch some fish whenever you get the chance.
  10. The Pete Maina's are great value for the money. BUT, they are focused towards Muskie/big Pike. If you want something for bass, get another combo. Stick to at least a Medium/Heavy fast action rod for general purposes for muskies. It will be too heavy for a bass rod. If you want to target muskie, you are going to need specialized rods/reels, bass gear will get torn up pretty quickly. Also for muskie, stick to a minimum of 65lb braid.
  11. The boys there are great!! I've had many a conversation with them over the past couple of years and picked up a new SpongeBob fishing rod for my youngest daughter today at their show booth (she saw it and would not let go of it). They are very helpful and I'll second Lew in that nobody has their selection of Musky gear, in rods, reels, lures and tackle.
  12. I've got a 7ft Compre and a 7ft St Croix, they are both nice rods. I don't have a bad thing to say about either.
  13. Nice 'gator!!! We'll get your Purple Heart out to you shortly!!
  14. Pete, it was great talking to you and the rest of the TNB crew!!! Too bad you didn't have any of the signature Pete Maina pink fuzzball hats!!! LOL!!! Good fishing good buddies!!!
  15. Canadian Tire will load test your battery for free. Just take it to the parts counter and they will check it.
  16. Leaders are fairly easy to make yourself, but there are lots of options. I'd suggest a trip to JB's, the boys there can hook you up with anything you need with regards to musky fishing.
  17. Oh Yeah, the Spring Fleecing at Bass Pro!!! I walked out $250 lighter. A pair of pants and a shirt for under $40, a new tackle box to replace my old one that was falling apart, a good deal at another $40, a PFD for myself and one for my daughter, some Trilene in 4,6, and 8lb test, a couple of X-Raps, a Bionic Bucktail.........Jeez, I needed a shopping cart. It was great meeting The Next Bite crew, I spent a fair bit of time talking to Pete Maina and Gary Parsons. They're a great bunch of guys, easy to talk to and very willing to help with some tips and ideas on techniques. If only I could watch their show, the magazine is great.
  18. That's great for us who don't get WFN!!! I loved your seminar at the fishing show and thoroughly enjoyed lunch at Subway on you. Now I have something to watch on Sunday mornings now!!!
  19. Damn!!! I forgot about my old buddy Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High!
  20. That's Cool!! If I had the dough ray me......... I'd get Mike to build a house for me. It won't be cheap because he builds it right but it will be standing long after I'm gone.
  21. Not really dishonest, a little white lie maybe. They have a commitment to repair your motor/boat if you damage it minus their deductible. Who does the repair and what you do with the money they are willing to pay is up to you. That's your right.
  22. Thanks TJ!!!
  23. My in-laws are building in a new development off of Mountainview (I believe, just up the hill from the neighbourhood pizza joint, I haven't been to the site yet). It's a nice area that's for sure, I love the whole greater Niagara region and would have moved there if my business wasn't based in the GTA. I have a lot of friends and family down there. Property values are still halfway decent even more so the further south you get of the QEW.
  24. What time you there Pete??? I'll head on up there for a poop chat!! (I can also show you a couple of places to go for a wobbly pop too)
  25. I'll second that Pete's all of the above!!! I think I've seen him in some cameo appearances on "That 70's Show"!!!
