Lots of eels here. They're easy to avoid if you don't want them. Eels, catfish and sturgeon basically eat the same things. Here, the cats are in sluggish waters, if you move out to water with a little more current you'll get eels.....more current again and deeper water will get you sturgeon. Eels are very slimey but I prefer catching an eel to catching anything with a mouth that looks like it was manufactured by Electrolux. My brother and I used to target eels in a place called St-Louis de Gonzague...we'd hang them on our bicycle handlebars and sell them to the usual suspects in town for 25 cents a piece. It would keep us in lures. We were 8 or 9 at the time so it was nice money.

Have a great and safe weekend everyone. I have to help get 40 or so boats in the water at the club tomorrow so the best I can do is fish from 5PM or so Saturday till nightfall. Might even find a walleye or two.

There's $100 dollars difference in the two types of PFDs...I guess it all depends upon what you think you're worth to your family. I only wear mine when I'm alone in the boat...so, I shouldn't talk.

In a private discussion yesterday I said that I liked the idea of members only being able to view pictures on this site. After having read the posts to this thread, after some consideration and after a decent night's sleep, my choice is to leave it alone. There is some good thinking here but perhaps Brian (Slowpoke) said it best. You can't legislate common sense. Let it be. Restricting picture viewing rights will also ultimately kill the board. I voted NO.

I kinda get turned off by a company putting up a website and can't even spell the name of their hook supplier correctly. It doesn't take anything away from the product, it's just careless and reflects on their attitude in general.
