Well I'm certainly no expert but I would run 4.5 to 5 mph with THESE baits. Never more than 10 feet from the boat. As for the net, if you don't already have one, borrow one. Get a Frabill. Make sure you have decent release tools as well... good long nosed pliers and decent bolt cutters. Looking forward to the report.

OK, so I've only tried a few pieces of salmon and walleye in the smoker and they were ummmm pretty good. So yesterday I went and got myself a piece of a$$ (pork)...about 10 pounds and I'm looking for a reasonably easy recipe. I know that I'm probably looking at 24 hours of this and 24 hours of that.....maybe I can get it done for Easter? Would anyone here be kind enough to share a not too long recipe? If it's your Grandma's secret recipe, you can PM me. Thanks.

Don and Ruth are very nice folks. (I especially like Ruth.) You'll be happy with that combo Phil. That'll have been the best deal you've made this year. I have two now.....they are too good for the price and you even got it at half price....great stuff. Notice that on that rod there's a hole in the trigger to hook your bait into. If you're trolling with a 6' leader, there's no other place to park the bait...Great great combo, you'll love it. An OFC thank you to Don for being the gent that he is.

Gerritt, I have a heavy Lowrance GPS/SONAR unit, the RAM holds it well, no problem. Just make sure you get the 1 1/2" ball.
