Great report, ADC. Yes they are scary/stinky beasts but not that many people target them successfully. You sound to have had a great weekend anyhow...best of luck the next time.
Such a great report Mike. The work getting up there sure seems trivial once you get up there. You both have some beauty fish. Y'know, lotsa folks would pay large to have a table such as yours in their living room.
Hey Goose, maybe our members can take a gander at your 4 posts to this board and they can make up their own minds as to which side your bread's buttered on.
Top notch story, Lew. Something that everyone should get accustomed to is 'figure eighting', especially me. Great times with great friends, lotsa fish, and that beautiful evening on the water with Diane. It don't get no better, Bud. Good on ya.
J and I had the pleasure of spending a few hours on the river with Marc Thorpe on Saturday night. It was a great evening, a little wind but comfy. We had two rods in the water and were trolling at about 5mph with perch coloured baits. We launched at 5:15PM and returned at 8:15. The final score was 2-2. Two solid rips but were unable to get a hookset. We were more fortunate with the two other rips. J got the first (and largest) fish of the evening and like a trooper, brought the fish in herself. I got the next one, a smaller fish but a great specimen all the same. We didn't bother sticking (measuring) the fish but J's was a decent size. J and I would like to thank Marc for a wonderful evening and all the knowledge. If anyone has a chance to fish with Marc, do it.
Fantastic report Terry. Brian, watching that video tells me that could have become a world class symphony orchestra conductor the way you handle that baton.. Set it to music Terry.
Rocky's is supposed to be a very good and honest place to bring in your repair work but maybe if Aikman's is closer to you, you can try them too. Maybe someone can chime in here?
I don't know of any successful fishermen using scents unless of course they have them as a sponsor. Most of our common sportfish are sight feeders. The others such as carp and catfish have olfaction receptors...scents will affect them.
