  1. He was also here for a while this morning and also posted. I won't tell him you were looking for him though. He enjoys the abuse.
  2. A great day on the ice for you and Matt, Simon. Thanks for cheering us up. A super report as usual.
  3. in 2008 sent me emails promising me wealth, health etc... if I would simply forward the emails to 5-15-30 of my contacts. Well, IT DID'T WORK! So, for 2009, would you be kind enough to just send me gift certificates, chocolates, beer, cash, fishing tackle...anything? Thanks.
  4. Get the Frabill round tip-up...you'll be glad you did.
  5. I believe it is 2.25 lbs. Check the records out here. http://ontariofishing.net/fishrecords.html
  6. Dang Raf, you beat me to it this time.
  7. Shims are available at most outdoor shops or online. In a pinch, folks here cut out pieces of pop cans.
  8. Thanks for the report Stan. As for your blades. If they have not been mistreated, I'd probably check the cut angle as opposed to the sharpness of the blades. Maybe a little proper shimming would help. If it really IS a question of blade sharpness, I'd be more inclined to buy a new set of blades. Have a look at blade shims though.
  9. Good stuff LungeLarry. It's nice to see that you're doing as well as ever. Thanks for taking the time to post....great pics!
  10. Sorry Bud...we really DO try our best. I feel terrible that we put you through that agony. We'll work it out.
  11. Great news Rob! Congrats to you and your wife. You're going to need a bigger canoe Bud!
  12. But Jon, all you'd need is for the line to go once around the shaft and you've lost him. No?
  13. Sorry, you said you wanted to throw big baits in your first post....I misunderstood.
  14. Two words : Shimano Compre. There are lots of others but for the price, this one is hard to beat. Google it and choose the length/weight/action etc...
  15. Spectra® Fiber is a Honeywell registered trademark....the stuff was invented by them. Whether it is labeled as PowerPro or whatever, it's the same stuff. It's as ugly and non intrusive as the black dacron lines we used as kids. The stuff is good in almost any brand for fish who are not finicky. NOW, there are the greens, the yellows, the reds etc... to do what? To SELL! Now I hear of people being concerned about the line discolouring? The colour does not matter.. the castability and the reliabilty (strength) does. So, buy what you feel comfortable with. The only people who will complain about this post are folks who had a really awkward day casting or folks who are being sponsored by one of the labels. Let's hear some feedback.
  16. I try to stay with the tried and true until such time that something proves itself to be better. I learned early in life that being a pioneer is as frustrating as it is expensive and time consuming. I'm using Firefox for the time being and it serves my purpose well.
  17. Happy Birthday Marc. Have a great day. It's also Pete Maina's birthday today. Brudders from a different mudder.
