  1. WOW! Is this ever a timely thread. I was fortunate enough to spend a weekend with J at Cliff and Sue's place some years ago. The most kind-hearted people you'd ever want to meet. Well, now I feel blessed because Cliff happens to be coming to my house this Saturday. I can probably never come close to the hospitality that they showed us but I'll certainly try. Looking forward to seeing you again Cliff.....plus some extra friends as well! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!
  2. Hey steelheaders....I don't want you to feel bad. Just remember that this is coming from two 'arteests' .
  3. Must be more steelheaders online.
  4. Thanks for that Sinker. Excellent report and pics! Really glad you were able to get out with your Mom and brother after those gargantuan, prehistoric monsters. Congrats to you.
  5. Good stuff Larry. I'm glad things are going well for you. Beauty fish too!
  6. They won't like me for this (or maybe they don't care) but I will never buy another Berkley product again.
  7. Welcome aboard!
  8. Each battery has its own neg./pos. leads.
  9. Really nice to see you guys get together and have such a great time! Thanks for posting that. Great pics too!
  10. I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys again too! Hope you have a great weekend and we should be meeting up on the Saturday.
  11. So what's the 5th one, Sonny?
  12. I have a 70 lb 24v unit and I'm using a 50 amp. breaker without issues, Mike.
  13. Glad you guys had a great time! Yes, Garry does have an encyclopedic mind when it comes to fishing. He's also a funny dude and when spoken to nicely will even sing you a few Willie Nelson tunes. Garry I don't want you to take this the wrong way but us older folks need reminders sometimes. Go get gassed up BEFORE you take the boat out again and don't forget the spare tank. You might want to plug in the onboard charger for the bowmount as well.
  14. I have a 16'9" Princecraft and last season I got a Minn-Kota Edge with a 52" shaft and it's plenty long enough for my boat.
  15. A very very nice report, James. Thanks for taking the time to put it together for us. Lakers are nice but those specks look spectacular. So have you got 2010 opening all figured out yet? ps. Read your report twice trying to figure out who "Adan" was before realizing that it's the way you spell "and". The capital "A" is what threw me. Nice literary touch there.
  16. Very nice Joe! Even the place mats would keep a dood busy for a while. Ecrevisse and steamed veggies! Excellent!
  17. I didn't get ripped off Randy. He's my neighbour, I wasn't going to get a lot more from the dealer and the stuff that I threw in, I had no more use for anyway. So, everyone's happy.
  18. Just for a reference point, I bought a new motor last summer. I was going to trade my old one in ...it was a 1999 30hp 2 stroke Mariner. I could have traded it to the dealer but instead, my neighbour was having trouble with his motor and so I sold mine to him (less than 50 hours on it). I asked for $1,000. for it and I threw in the travel cover, a new spare gas tank and two spare re-built props. He was thrilled and I was happy with that. It was worth more though.
  19. Moemoe, this may not be a crucial point but it was important to me. Whether you do wood flooring, wall or ceiling a la tongue and groove, if you can choose the season you do it in it makes a big difference. I did 3,000 sf of flooring in my house. If you buy your wood and install it in the winter for example, in the dryer season it'll shrink and you'll have gaps showing up. That's not too bad. What's worse is buying and installing TIGHT in the summer. When it swells, and it will, you'll get waves in there. If you can buy your wood and leave it out in the room that it's intended for for a while, the wood will climatise a little and give you much fewer problems. Between seasons is the best time to do it. Just my coupla cents. Good luck.
  20. Well you know what they say... "never raise a hand to your kids...It leaves your groin unprotected."
  21. Thanks for the heads up, Joe.
  22. Roy

    Hey Joey!

Yeah, who needs a new stinkin' boat when you have one of Spiel's muskie sticks!
  23. Happy Birthday you cutie you! Have the bestest day and tons more. I hope Paul bought you the boat you wanted for your BD....or at least something flimsey in leopard pattern.
  24. Thanks for posting, Jamie. I must say, very photogenic and you too. Nice yak too. When's marlin season open?
  25. You did good, Rob. Nice shots too. I don't think that's a trout lake...looks like pike water to me but as Mike said, the MNR can give you a heads up on species there. As for house colour, use the colour you want or have or is on special. You remember years ago NO ONE would paint their livingroom purple but now it's ok cause now they call it PLUM. Red was a bad colour for a bedroom but now it's ok cause they now call it STRAWBERRY! It's YOUR place, YOU live in it, paint it the colour YOU want. Thanks for the report...looking forward to seeing the next one. That's the one where you include a pic of the 40+ incher outta that lake.
