  1. MJL probably said it all for the bait if your just trying it out... i'll add a few things though When you get to your fishing spot, start off with throwing a few handfuls of corn out to where you plan to drop your rig, it will attract to fish to come over. Use a reel with a larger spool if you have one, when you have a fish on it might take quite a bit of line out. If you're planning on holding onto your rod, hang on tight ... or if you plan on putting on the ground using a tree branch/rod holder, loosen your drag so when a carp takes your bait, your rod won't fly out ... trust me, even a 10lber are quite strong and your rod will be in the water before you know it. Good luck and let us know how you make out!
  2. all-americanoutdoors definitely has pretty good prices as G said.. if your not in a hurry of getting one though, i would keep an eye out on ebay. Good luck on your purchase
  3. condolences to you and your family UA.
  4. nice slabs! must be tasty
  5. i wonder how many of those are related to "marshmellow" or "i recognize that rock" Thanks to all the Admins for keeping this place running!
  6. that's a beautiful fish. nice bows too! thanks for sharing
  7. man... that's just an ugly sight. i hope that karma will be on whoever did this
  8. Congrats Matt! Those are some nice fish too!
  9. o by the way, nice fish! i can't tell you how excited i was when i got my first one either !
  10. when you click into your photobucket page ... on the right you will see that it gives you 4 different "link options" ... i.e. "Shared URL", "Direct Link", "HTML code", "IMG code" what you need here, is the "IMG code" ... when you do a post, just copy that line and you'll be fine. As it already has the tags in it, you won't need to click the "insert image" button as what Stoty told you. if you have more problems, let me know
  11. billy - curtiss --> i don't think you can paste facebook pics here ... people who's viewing it needs to be logged onto facebook... not sure though... i tried pasting the link you got into my browser and it asked me to log in. I caught my first ever steelhead on sunday as well ... fish took off before i could get a pic though
  12. nice catch once again cliff and carole!!
  13. i recognize the rock in the background!
  14. real nice fish cliff! congrats on the PB ... that swim sure holds quality and quantity!!! your new PB is one whole lb ahead of mine, guess i gotta fish hard this year to keep up with ya. i have heard alot about this for the okuma reels as well ... just make sure your rod/reel won't get yanked out i'm not sure if getting that baitrunner is a good thing or bad thing ... you should talk to randy (wolfville) about this ... when we first got our baitrunner ... it was so exciting hearing the free spool go when a fish grabs the bait that it slowed our reaction/hookset haha.
  15. my johnson's better than yours ... haha jokes congrats on your boat and the maiden voyage ... hope that we'll see some fish pics in it soon time!!
  16. double insulated rods?
  17. i'm not sure if you have taken into consideration for transport/storage but those rods are 1 piece ... just a heads up. I usually go fishing with my mom's car (compact sized car) ... it's somewhat difficult to deal with my one piece rod. i agree with uglyfish though. When i first started i bought a bunch of of "OK" gear... eventually i have to upgrade and the old gear would just be sitting at home ... so i'd say if you can spare the money or save up, try to go with something better providing that you're hoping to use it in the long run. Good luck on your purchase!
  18. Congrats! Fresh bird, hmm that looks tasty!
  19. great job! it's about time these people learn...
  20. Please correct me if i'm wrong, when i took driving lessons i was told that you can move up towards the first vehicle making a left (assuming you're not the first car) ... when the light turns red, you are allowed to turn if you are passed the white line. That way you won't be blocking the pedestrian crosswalk or the cars going in the perpendicular direction. I know what you mean about having 3-4 cars turning sometimes though...some people just push it too far sometimes...
  21. great pics! o man that's such a great idea. i want a boat so badly but i just didn't think my mom would let me park my boat in the garage and leave her car out on the driveway. Should i do yellow or pink? ... neon green? lol
  22. congrats on getting the boat back ... the wait must have lasted forever. nice fish too!
