I agree with you on shooting on a still target. But most deer that we see in the controlled hunt are on the move. Even at 40 yards your lucky to get a good kill shot. Yes, I use a smooth deer barrel with fiber optic sights. Model 12 Winchester that was custom modified by Elies gunsmith in Simcoe. I still have the original barrel for duck shooting.

Bill, if we lived in a prefect world, things would be different, but we all can't be doctors or lawyers. Sorry about changing the conversation Lovetofish, you help a few on here giving us a heads up video. Put being around here for years, threads seem to get swade sometimes which makes interesting reading. Look at all your replies and comments. I know a few that use to post here and never got any replies and left. It would be boring if we sat around the campfire and talk about the same thing. Guys lighten up, lets get out and fish Simcoe for some tasty Perch and Whities. You can have your Lakers, if you want Lakers go off the humps in-front of Grimsby and Fruitland, you'll fill your boat.

Service Canada....definately not fishing...
Fish Farmer replied to lookinforwalleye's topic in General Discussion
Isn't our fishing licence now an U.S. thing now. Something else we lost. I know the new hunting card looks like crap. Lew, Don't feel bad buddy. I worked at Stelco and everyone said Stelco workers went there to sleep, I got painter as-well. We did have a few Fresh-Air-Thieves as I called them. We have politicians, then we have workers. Merry Christmas Lew -
Weather you like it or not, the end is coming. So enjoy while you have it. Just look at the big picture. Technology is killing us. Only the rich can fish in some countries, and it's coming here all ready. Our government is killing the working class anglers $10,00 an hour jobs and everything going up, the math doesn't work. If the $25.00 boat launch and Miss Wynne 10 cent raise in gas that we can't afford now, taxes going up etc and we have to take concessions. My calculator reads ----'s now It's a shame, we are in sad shape. I never thought I would fish Hamilton Harbor or the Grand years ago, because traveling to north is only a treat now. After putting in almost 40 years at then Stelco now owned by who knows next week, but it's almost closed up. 14000 people at one time and now 350. My dream when I retired was fishing every day in the north and travel to remote lakes. I guess it was a dream. Most younger people will never be able to retire. I belong to 3 different fishing clubs, chair on 2. The big question is why is our membership dropping so fast. I look around the meeting and see nothing but old gray hair. Very few younger kids getting involved, why? Soon my grandkids will look at my rod rack and say my Papa used to fish with them. Sorry for my rant . Merry Christmas everyone.

As mentioned, keep the fish for a fry after. The basic reason that the fish being alive at weight-in that the fish being caught that day and not keeped from days past to win. We run a Perch derby 50 Pt. the fish must be alive to enter. What happens after we don't care. We don't have any wasted fish I tell you and everyone is happy.

Gezz you guys are good.

You may get in trouble if your asked to show your vessel licence and you're not the owner of the boat.

Man saved me $70.00 in gas. Thanks for your reports Bud. Maybe we can get some kids out from behind the PC and cel phones and other mischief. Give Simcoe another 10 years, it's the population explosion. Simcoe is in Toronto's back yard.

Pay the the tax on everything, if you don't, better not get caught. Don't forget to change the name on the vessel license. The ministries are linked together now. The MAN will get you sooner or later.

Really, shooting deer at 100 yards with a shotgun Now I know why I see wounded deer. Looking down the barrel of a shotgun at a deer at 100 yards the barrel covers 10' each side of the deer. I caught a Perch the other day that must be 5 Lbs.

Been watching this gas price site NF
Fish Farmer replied to davey buoy's topic in General Discussion
I wonder if you take your gas sales slip back after it goes down, could you ask for a refund like any other merchandise you buy, plus some places price match I wonder what they would say? Do you give senior discount? -
Thanks for the replys guys. I should have mentioned what set up we used. I think I used 20 different deep running lures and the best set up was a purplish pink Reef Runner with a 1 once snap, 15Lb braid, running back 200' from the inline boards. 100' of water in the channel out from Keith's Shoul. I did hear some better reports from weeks that we weren't there. I guess as my signature says.

That reminds me, I have to take back a dark gray hoodie from Mark's that cost about $90.00 that faded in the sun after I wore it once. It has a brownish stripe down the front, the part that was exposed from my open jacket

I think it was that temp at Quinte out in the boat sitting for hours watching my rod telling myself any min. now.

The Boys and myself did our last trip this year to Quinte. Last 2 days we fished off Keith's shoul and did better than our last trip. We ended with 7 big Walleye with one topping 13 Lbs. Most fish released, we keeped 3 bleeders Just a few pictures of our trip. Rays boat that took us to the fish These are the 3 Amigo's As you can see how cold it was, we had to launch at the Ferry launch because the Picton harbor was frozen in. Believe it or not, I caught 1

Our Quinte report for Nov. 17 to 21
Fish Farmer replied to Fish Farmer's topic in General Discussion
See what happens when you rub, Cats got spanked good, to be honest, I did like to see the riders win even though I'm a Cat fan. I can see you now Terry, pulling the snow machine out to put the boat away. I'm with you about putting the boat away. But I hope we get good safe ice early on Long Pt Bay and maybe some Whitie action on Simcoe this year -

Fish Farmer replied to LeXXington's topic in General Discussion
Aren't you guys lucky we left you some . Great report guys glad you guys got into some fish. I think were going back Dec 6 for 3 more days. We could be breaking ice. -
We, Ray, Murray and myself went to Quinte for 5 days, 2 days was a No go because of the weather. Sunday small craft wind warning, so we stayed in to watch the Cats spank the Argos Monday, waves were impossible. We got out 3 days and caught some fish. Fishing was tough because like the story goes, (WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN HERE YESTERDAY) Ray caught 2 and Murray caught 2 aswell, and the other guy ? don't ask Most fish were caught near Keith's out in deep water. Ray with a nice Walleye Murray with a nice fish that toped out at over 11 LBS.

Hope to have a report when I get back.

Have you ever hunted in Michigan Brian. I had an invite down there to deer hunt and you wouldn't belive how those people display thier deer in the truck and drive up and down the street. One restaurant in Rose City has a deer pole in front for deer hunters to hang their deer. Sign says hang your deer on the pole and get a free Pizza.

Now that is tops for the joke of the year Roy, good one. I'm still laughing.

Way to go Rich, Congrats , Tell me, you used a spinning reel to catch that fish, not one of those CLOTHE- line- reel thingies to reel her in. OK Steelers, I'll go and stick my head
