I do enjoy them smoked....but haven't fished the Big O is a couple of years.....might just get back out there just for some smokers... Fried in butter.....I'll take those little stocked stream trout they do here on a put and take basis.
-
If that happened down here FEMA would step in and the occupants would be treated to free room and board for many months to come....some milked it in expensive hotel rooms and then refused to leave after 1 year later....legal action was taken yet the hotel was told not to evict said occupant.... ...but I think that was for the birds....

For those who are interested in the state of Lake Ontario........ http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/other/outdoors/article748548.ece

You're actually going to eat them things....their the #1 reason trout and salmon taste like ...but let us know if you enjoyed them....maybe you have a completely different pallet.

Hell, it made of wood, right......take a paddle with you.....SORRY couldn't resist...... I think your buddy is right.....it's not going anywhere soon.....you still have lots of ice up there and that snow is going to insulate it.....moving it might be a problem but you'll Get 'R Done....I have faith in you Kyle. Good Luck, Bob

Channel 68 has been set aside for jibber jabber used by fishermen in the Great Lakes....at least here in the USA but I do hear Canadians using it all the time also.
-
I hope I don't have to use it but the generator is ready on stand by just in case we lose the electric today....and plenty of expensive gasoline at hand....
-
WOW again.....and THANK YOU Lew for sharing and writing in small paragraphs that made it easy to read. Bob

Yep, I knew that....just having some fun with it.... And the winds are real nasty down here too......they are calling for 70mph+ gust here today....what's that up there, like 100k's or more....lol...

IMHO you can get a great rod from Cabela's or other places for under $100 each....then you can bank the extra money for VERY Expensive gasoline that you will be buying this year to go fishing. Seriously, you don't need to spend a lot of money on a rod to catch a fish....I'm not saying buy a cheapo rod....but I have several Cabela's rods like these and I'm a finesse jig fishermen after walleyes...... http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fishing-Rods/Spinning-Rods%7C/pc/104793480/c/104764680/sc/104836680/Cabelas-Fish-Eagle174-II-Spinning-Rods-150-08/738725.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffishing-fishing-rods-spinning-rods%2Fcabelas%2F_%2FN-1102841%2B1000002949%2FNe-1000002949%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104836680%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%25253BMMcat104793480%253Bcat104764680%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU&WTz_l=SBC%253BMMcat104793480%3Bcat104764680%3Bcat104836680

Neither is today....LOL....

There are cheap ones and better ones....so you will get what you pay for....but for under $100 for a pair you should be good to go....BUT here's my only recommendation.....get a pair that will take alkaline batteries as the rechargeable are crap for lasting very long. We use them for hunting and they work very good, even in the cold. Bob

Dock the boat......back in the trailer to your desired depth (mine never has the hubs in the water).....hook the winch cable to the bow of the boat and winch it up....DONE...that is why there is a winch on the front end of that trailer....you don't have to drive it up on the trailer...
-
I have watched it once or twice....at first interesting then it gets boring very quickly...... It's just a different presentation to show you how fish react....you have to remember there are many States that allow you to fish bass year round and I have no problem with that.....up north you guys fish perch, bluegills and crappies during their spawning periods....WHY is that allowed...because it's no threat to that fishery and either is fishing bass year round in many States down here....so enjoy it for what it is or change the channel to Curling....LOL...

Batten down the hatches big storm coming!!!
Billy Bob replied to Kawartha Kev's topic in General Discussion
When I worked on the RR I spent some time working in what we called the Van Site.....it was where the teamsters would load the trailers from tractor trailers onto flat cars.....my job was to inspect and repair any of the flat cars prior to them loading and then to again inspect their work to make sure the trailers were locked in properly to the stansions....but anyways.....truckers from all over would come in and drop off their trailers, some in the middle of the night when no one was there.....but if they parked their trailers side ways to the wind and we got a real winding night the empties would be lying on their sides come morning.... and there goes our easy work day.... -
Whats the best way to slow my boat down for trolling?
Billy Bob replied to coreyhkh's topic in General Discussion
I just use my 1985 Johnson 50hp VRO outboard and it trolls right down....you know, the one that was suppose to blow up 25 years ago because it's oil injected..... -

I use real worms....you get a dozen (12) for $2....

I am referring to SAFETY standards....welding is not a acceptable means when it comes to personal safety and it didn't matter what material we were working with.
-
Yet there were several freight cars that were made out of aluminium and again NO WELDING on safety appliances. Welding is not to be trusted when you have a man hanging off the side of a car, but rivets or bolts were.
-
The big difference is SAFETY....your hitch breaks off you have to go back and get it....a grab handle or ladder breaks off the side of a box car the man could be killed. When it comes to safety the FRA takes it VERY serious and that is why those standards are in place. BTW my boat the GRUMMAN is built by a manufacture that builds planes....many help us win WWII....
