  1. A 18 foot bass boat with a 50 - 75 hp motor would IMHO be under powered by quite a bit and would weigh more then the 1800 - 2200 lb range. If you are really interested in a bass boat I would get a full size pick up truck.
  2. The outfitter should have a list of things you need to bring.....REMEMBER you will be limited by weight and will pay a premium per pound over that limit. One tip we have used is use five gallon buckets as tackle boxes with covers. Your stuff will be STUFFED and BANGED around by the person loading and unloading your gear. Using 5 gallon buckets has many advantages. First they LIGHT and damage proof, second they can handle a lot of gear and finally they are completely water proof when it rains or if the rental boats leak. Using smaller trays to sort out lure and then storing them in the buckets have worked VERY well for us....also take along a roll of duct tape in one of your buckets. You never know if you may need it for something and I use it to seal the tops on the buckets so there is no way they can open up in transit. You can also mark your name on the tape to identify your bucket of stuff. 2 or 3 buckets is more than enough space for any fly-in trip. Good Luck, Bob
  3. Actually today I'm going to replace my 9 year old starting battery because Monday it started to show signs that it's weakening and I don't like to be stranded on Erie. I have a battery monitor in the dash and at times it was showing only 40% and the volt meter at times dipped down to 11.2 volts. I guess I got my money's worth out of it. Let me know if you get that from a car battery.
  4. My question is...Why would you purchase a USED battery, especially one not designed for what you are going to use it for then ask if it's OK. But anyways.....it's better as your starting battery then for your trolling motor. Good Luck with it.
  5. Hey, I don't write the reviews but I would rather judge by a NON-BIAS person then someone telling me to purchase "their" vehicle....so here's one for comparison...BTW I don't own a SUV... FROM CONSUMER REPORTS: Among conventional, full-frame SUVs, the Toyota 4Runner is a good choice. It corners relatively well and its suspension suppresses most bumps. The cabin is quiet, and the brakes work well. The 3.4-liter V6 is lively and relatively economical. The standard 4WD setup is a part time system. The V6, stability control, and full-time 4WD became standard in 2001. The 2003 redesign made the 4Runner our top-rated SUV in its class that is suited for serious off-roading. It offers a V6 or V8 engine as well as a small third-row seat. Fuel economy is unimpressive, but reliability is exceptional. The V6 got a five-speed automatic for 2005, and the V8 received more horsepower.
  6. NOT TRUE... because when breast are chilled the taps pop out... Oh boy.....I think I'm going to get another warning...but well worth it...
  7. LOL......
  8. You do realize the American Brewery "Coors" now owns Molson's...
  9. FROM CONSUMER REPORTS....... Road TestSport V6 The redesigned Liberty scores worse than its predecessor and is the lowest-rated vehicle in its category. Its ride is unsettled, handling is clumsy, and the noisy engine guzzles gas. Its cramped interior is uncomfortable and sloppily finished. The Liberty, based on the low-scoring Dodge Nitro, at least can tow and tackle tough off-road terrain. The Driving Experience The Liberty rocks from side to side over bumps. The ride often feels buoyant and unsettled, and at low speeds it can be stiff and snappy. On the highway the ride is more tolerable, but wind noise is excessive. Handling is ponderous, with pronounced body lean and vague steering that offers little feedback. On the track, the Jeep tends to plow ahead prematurely in turns. That compromised performance in our avoidance maneuver. Jeep claims to have retuned the suspension for improved handling and steering. Acceleration from the hoarse-sounding, 210-horsepower, 3.7-liter, V6 engine feels sluggish at times and delivers just 16 mpg overall. It towed our 3,500-pound test trailer from 0 to 60 in a leisurely 21.1 seconds. The four-speed automatic transmission is not very responsive or refined. Our Liberty has the optional full-time four-wheel-drive system, which is helpful in winter driving. The Liberty can tackle off-road situations well enough. In our braking tests, stops were long in wet and dry conditions. The headlights had good distance and intensity. The high beams added no intensity over low beams but had slightly more distance. This dog wouldn't be my first pick.....
  10. I have to agree with Uncle Buck here that towing with a full size V-8 Pick Up Truck is teats....and you know where I stand on Best Pick Up Trucks...TUNDRA.... Seriously though.......I had a 2004 Ford Escape and it was OK but not like a truck....stopping power and SEEING over the boat while towing in truck is very nice.....also SUV's tend to cost more, sometimes much more for a smaller vehicle. Either way you decide Good Luck on your choice... BTW...I have a Internet subscription of Consumer Reports so if you want a certain vehicle looked up as far as customer reviews, etc.....PM me and I'll forward the info... Bob
  11. Dude......you need to set a side some fishing time for brewing time...at those prices you could be rich overnight...
  12. It's the advice that Bob Pinciotti gave to Eric Foreman on "That 70's Show" when Eric was going to fight someone.... Always sounded like good advice to me...
  13. Can't help you with Port Dover as I have never been there......but walleyes have been biting pretty good on watermellon colored wormharness behind Dipsey Divers. Bob
  14. If you can stomach Old Milwaukee you have to be stronger then me so I'll have to hit you with a banjo when you're not looking.....
  15. When I was young and had more bills then money I use to drink Old Milwaukee...I believe we got for $4.99 per 24 pack on sale. Now when I taste it I know why...
  16. Last week our super market "Tops" had Blue Light on sale for a price I haven't seen in about 5 years.....$16.99 per 30 pack and that wasn't a rebated price but rather the price paid at the cash register....I hogged 5 cases thinking I am saving $4 per case, so if I purchase 5 cases one is FREE (my favorite 4 letter word)... I wish I could do something about the prices you guys pay up there on adult beverages but I don't think they would listen......you need more competition on the retail side other then the "Beer Store". Here beer is sold almost everywhere from super markets to drug stores to gas stations.
  17. But Labatt's headquarters are here in Buffalo, NY U.S.A.
  18. I blame my memory on Labatt's Blue Light....do you think I could sue them for that...... that? ? ? what were we taking about again. Oh, that's right, log splitters.....
  19. Thanks, I thought it was pushing $40 per case but wasn't sure.....the older you get the less you can remember...
  20. To settle a argument....since I haven't purchased beer in Ontario in probably 20 years how much is a case of Molson Canadian ?
  21. CERAMIC guides ? ? ? I haven't hear about or seen one in over 20 years. Are they still made and used on rods....some of the alloy aluminum oxide guide may look like ceramic but are not. The use of ceramic guides didn't last long because of their weight they added to a rod. Maybe now a cheap Walmart, etc...rod might have ceramic guides on it but like I have said I haven't seen one in MANY years.
  22. I like Pert Plus shampoo the best because it includes a conditioner. For best results you should wet, lather, rinse and repeat by a big hooter blonde.
  23. Barbershops........BARBERSHOPS......you still have some of them.......I have to go to the "Hair Salon"...
  24. Actually there could be a lot to gain by renting to a better clientèle.....in most cases the night time drunken rowdy crowd are the same that do vandalism to other people's property....they don't respect other people when it comes to being quiet late at night and they wouldn't respect property either...I know as I have had to deal with these kinds in the past.
