Take all ID's off the vessel and dump it in the middle of the street...then call the police and say it fell off a truck...

Rude fishermen infringe on cottage enjoyment
Billy Bob replied to FlyGuy5's topic in General Discussion
Daniel DeKuyper wrote about "Fishermen's Etiquette" and he's right...but the gate swings both ways....how about when I'm in a quiet bay jigging for fish on the first break and the "cottage" guy roars very close to me with water skier in tow....here I got up early and was as quiet as possible to fish this bay only to be harassed by the power boater or water bike showing off right in front of me when there is a LOT of open water to do their activity. Nothing will change and things only get worse IMHO. Bob -

Funeral Arrangements for Lake Nipissing are being made.

OK, But it doesn't address why fish in the slot limit MUST be returned to lake for one group who uses a single fishing line and another group can scoup them up with a net and keep them. -

Yes, I can see the adds now..... WATER SKI AND JET BIKE COTTAGES Come to Lake Nipissing to Water Ski and Jet Bike around without being bother by fishermen as they no longer fish the Big Nip because all the walleyes/pickerel are now gone.... -

I have a friend who is watching this development VERY close as the Seneca's don't have a good history on these things and the money is coming from the Feds. Time will tell. -
Proper method of disposing of fish waste
Billy Bob replied to Black_Blade's topic in General Discussion
Please BEAR with us... In NYS we can dump them in the lake as long as it's over 100 feet from shore but we can't legally clean them within 100 feet from shore...go figure.... -

Everyone needs to live under the same rules or we always will be divided. -
I also recommend keeping the wood burner.....you never know when a storm hits and the power goes out...don't depend on the electric company to save you because it will NOT happen. The advantage of running the pipe straight up in a single story home is that it stays cleaner for a longer period of time and you get extra heat off that pipe....but as others here have said, you should be good to go on what you have. My stove pipe runs staight up and I check it every fall but it's always clean. Wood is WORK though....a lot of work....

Great advice here....but I can't resist.....up in Canada would you go to the "Loony" store...

A question for people who fish with trolling motor.
Billy Bob replied to Steelcat's topic in General Discussion
That's when I say out loud "You don't have to go into the bathroom to see the buttholes".... -
This has to be one of the biggest money grabs (next to the outdoor card) that Canada has ever invented....what next...get your driver's license on the internet (but it cost twice as much)... God, I hope the idiots in Albany don't see this....

That "CHEWING GUN" could put a halt on your parade....LOL BTW......it's considered SHOUTING when you use all capitals... But anyways....good luck fishing and ask your brother if he'll buy me a lottery ticket for good luck... Bob

I have replace two cables on my Minn Kota's over the years....take it apart and find the problem. Probably just a broken cable.
-
I would MUCH rather have a Cabela's but I highly doubt that will ever happen. Here's what has me concerned......."There are numerous critical reasons for our position, including the fact that several major issues fundamental to the successful completion of the project remain unresolved," Hagale wrote. This tells me that the powers to be aren't even close to anything happening on the waterfront....I have waited for over 30 years and still NOTHING....and I'm pretty sure it will be status quo for a LONG time to come here....our taxes are way out of line and the area is not business friendly in the least....every time some business wants to do something here the NAYSAYERS threaten law suits....oh well, maybe in my next life time...LOL

Well it took BPS NINE YEARS to decide NOT to build in Buffalo....DUH http://www.buffalonews.com/city/communities/downtown/article86184.ece

WOW, VERY Impressive.......now I'm just wondering about COST ? ? ?
-
Thanks for this above info but who ever wrote it never took into consideration that almost all cars on the road these days are front wheel drive. So the rear tires act just like my trailer tires....they follow along as they are told...Bottom line is I only got about 3-4 years on trailer tires with my rig but with the radial car tires I got 12.5 years of high speed towing all over the USA and Canada....

Actually this trunk is shaped so well I really never have to weedwack around it. In a few weeks the Erie County Fair is being held so I'll have to check in with the guy there that does the chainsaw carvings.
-
Yes I do realize it's a soft maple and because of that it would make a good carving trunk. And yes I would seal it every year to prevent rot.

Four hours should of cooked the ribs enough.....cut the rack in half and see if the meat is pink all the way through...pinkish meat shows how far the meat was smoked through...so if only the outer half is pinkish then it's only about half cooked (smoked). Another way I judge by is on a rack of ribs are the bones sticking out about a half inch or so....if so there done. Also under smoked ribs will be on the tough side while eating. Hope this helps. Bob

Blew a tire 2 weeks ago just after I got off the Church St ramp on the way to the boat launch....not good but I was well prepared......I even had some orange collapsible cones to set out to protect me from all the nuts speeding to work... Looked up the receipt to find I had them there CAR tires (radials) on my trailer for 12.5 years and now Sam's Club no longer carries that size (175/80/13). I called around and around and no one had them but they insisted a trailer tire was better for my applications (they cost a LOT more per tire). But then I remembered Mr Fox Tire in Buffalo that sells just about any tire you need including used tires (that's where I got my spare). Told the guy on the phone what I wanted and said can you get me anything close to what I need in a car tire that has a load rating of at least 1179 lbs....he said "I have 4 different manufactures of the 175/80/13 tires you're looking for"....cheapest cost $34.99 with mounting included.....I hopped into my Tundra and got them mounted and balance and new valve stems to boot. So Sam's Club charged me $28.99 12.5 years ago and I got them replaced for only $6 more per tire....COLOR ME HAPPY.... Bob Moral of the story: you don't always need trailer tires at trailer tire prices if you can get a car tire with the proper load range to handle your boat.

I have a VERY large Silver Maple in my back yard that I am considering having removed. The truck diameter has to be about 3' and it's overhanging my garage where my fishing machine is stored. If it doesn't cost too much we will go forward with this project and then keep the fire wood to off set the cost. For the stump we are thinking of leaving the trunk about 10 tall or so and having it carved into something like a totem pole with cub bears or whatever. There is a guy at our county fair that does this so we'll have to talk to him about the cost of something like this first. Has anyone here ever had this done ? ? ? Bob
-
Sam's Club has them here for about $155 but even at that redickulas price I wouldn't purchase one when I can get a conventional deep cycle batter size 24 for about $65
-
Can you please submit a picture of this $300 battery.....oh, and while you're at it a picture of yourself...I would like to know what a fishermen looks like that would spend $300 on a battery.... I hope it all works out for you. Bob
