  1. Nice WALLEYES....as you can see I'm a walleye guy and the pike is a bonus fish......my turn in less then two weeks...hope to have your luck then. Bob
  2. Trust me....ALL OF THIS can be avoided by getting their best price via the internet...I will NEVER again go to a dealer and play their games...you want my business give me your BEST quote via email and go from there.... Bob
  3. The last two vehicle I purchased (one for my wife and one for my sister in-law) were done completely on the internet. Go to the dealers websites you want to deal with....put in all your info EXCEPT your phone number....the site will demand it but just put in 555-5555....this forces the website salesmen to send you their best quote via email to you....this is usually their lowest offer since they have no idea where your from...they are hoping they are bring in new business from afar and this is sometime the case....this will eliminate all the bull of haggling.... Now if you have a certain vehicle in mind and want to know it's repair and reliability ratings and customer satisfaction, let me know as I have a internet subscription to Consumers Reports and can copy and paste this via PM or email. Good Luck and remember if you find a deal (price) you can live with go for it and don't look back. Bob
  4. My wife has been trying to do that for YEARS....
  5. Good read on Lake Erie Perch fishing... http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/other/outdoors/article451986.ece
  6. That's why they call it "FISHING"..... Early to bed Early to rise Fish all day Tell big lies Sounded like a good day on the water... ...
  7. Sinker, this new system you are referring to (EZ LUBE) is now coming standard with most pop up trailers...it a very good system and much better then the Bearing Buddies guys add to their boat trailers.
  8. I would recommend this as it will wash the cylinder walls of oil that a 2 cycle needs for lubrication.
  9. In this quote and Bernie's other post is very good advice....also you should not be mixing wheel bearing grease....completely clean out the hub and bearing before repacking or replacing them...AND there is also a marine wheel bearing grease available that I would recommend...I believe it's red....hard to remember because I go YEARS without repacking them....went 15+ years the last time...but I don't put them in the water. Bob
  10. Yep....over 8 years ago...
  11. But that's my JOB.....
  12. Here we go......
  13. I don't have any problem with it....BTW my Red Sox beat up on the "Yanks" yesterday..... :clapping: Now if you called me a Redneck I might by you a Canadian Beer...eh... Hey, how about your Canadian Cousins...the Neffie's.
  14. We did the Kawarthan's twice on a houseboat....first time was way back around 1985 or 86....a marina called Three Buoys Houseboats had brand new 40' boats with a slide off the top deck...had a FANTASTIC time.. Then around 7 years ago we rented from Egan Houseboats....it was OK but the fridge didn't work...the maintenance guy kept following us around the lakes trying to fix it...at one point they even replaced the fridge as we were tied up at the locks in Fenlen Falls. They never did get it right and we had to buy a TON of ice to keep our food cold...in the end they took off the price of 3 days for our inconvience... If I do it again and we are talking about it we would try Happy Days Houseboat rentals this time.... just wish Three Buoys Marina didn't go out of business...they had everything in ship shape. But here are two of the houseboat rentals that are on Pigeon Lake... http://www.happydayshouseboats.com/marina.htm http://www.houseboat.on.ca/ BTW in the 2 weeks of houseboating in the Kawarthan's we never had any trouble tying up for the night at the locks or anchoring in a bay....LOTS of open water back bays without dealing with private property owners. Good Luck and you will have a BLAST if you do rent one, Bob
  15. Yep....you pay anywhere from 20K to 50K for a new car or truck and not one of them comes with a kicker..... Just having a bit of fun at your expense Terry.....
  16. Still some nice catches........especially the muskie's....either way you wouldn't want to keep them anyway...RIGHT.....pics would be nice...have any ? ? ? Bob
  17. SWEET.... Now come on down here the last week of June and score on the Niagara River around Strawberry Island....
  18. "IF" you do....buy second hand at 40 cents to the dollar or better...if you buy new you WILL take a beating when you sell.....but if you can get a DEAL you should be OK.... Good Luck and if you score your family will have TONS of Fun, Bob
  19. That's good....but I would rather keep one outboard maintained then 2...everyone is different....nice you had something to keep you going in the right direction....
  20. YES....the water prevents freezer burn for long term freezing, 2 years would not be unheard of using this method...if you're going to eat them in a week or so, it's not necessary... I really think the vacuum seal pack is the VERY BEST way to go...but expensive for a GOOD one....it pulls out all air, uses less space and defrost time is a lot less....but you can alway run cold water over your frozen ice block to speed up defrost time...works very good. Bob
  21. I do see your point....but with a 20' boat with 3 or 4 guys and gear, not much a 6 or 9 hp kicker is going to do anyways....you're going to be out there a LONG time....I would rather depend on my GPS and VHF radio, not to mention a cell phone...TONS of guys are out fishing the "Big Waters" without kickers....I wouldn't get too hung up on that option...IMHO... You also have a good point saving wear and tear on the big motor...but as said...my buddies 115 hp Yammy is now 18 year old and he only used that boat for trolling the Great Lakes because he also had the smaller boat...but now that motor will do double duty as he got the in-between-er boat so he only has to deal with one boat now.
  22. Sorry....didn't do a great job of explaining....but YES...put the ice block in a plastic bag the just fits and then in that small lunch bag that just holds a qt square container of ice....they all fit into that paper lunch bag for labeling....works great and looks very professional at that. Bob
  23. I don't agree with a kicker...my fishing buddy had a 18.5 Lund with a 115 hp Yammy for the last 15 years and we always fished Erie and Ontario with it without every having any issues....he just traded in that boat and his smaller 16' Lund for 17' Polarcraft but kept the 115 hp Yammy for the back of it...it's quite and dependable plus it sips fuel like a 2 stroke kicker... I see no reason for two outboards to fish the so called "Big Lakes"...my 50 hp Johnson has never failed me in 26 years of fishing Erie and Ontario...and I had fished the NYS walleye tournaments every year when I was younger....so yes I did a LOT of offshore fishing...10 - 12 miles out or more.
  24. Trust me on this one....these are the BEST horderves anyone has ever had...if there's something better I want to taste it.. Bob
  25. Damn...Headhunter has a copy of my cook book....
