Spooner...not trying to disagree as you are partially correct. There are policies at an agreed value like you said but there are also policies out there that are known as ACV or "Actual Cash Value" This simply means depreciation applies and it doesn't matter what limit you are showing on the policy. The best advice is to look for the policy type that you described

YAMMY Sooo...went to the boat show and dropped my wife off at the lineup to tour the $1.1 million dollar yachts while I "researched" kickers I was determined to find a deal on a nice Yamaha 9.9 high thrust or Mercury 9.9 Prokicker and stumbled across one glaring difference....the Yammy's don't have a pull/rope start Apparently you can pull the cover off the Yammy and wrap a rope around the flywheel for a pull start (they both have electric start) My reasoning for a kicker was for trolling and especially emergency backup since Erie is where I'll be playing this season. Question is...if you had the choice would you worry about that difference? My gut tells me if the "stuff" comes down I don't want to be teetering out on the swim platform wrapping rope around a flywheel. The Merc. sales guy loved hearing this

Wayne, ATV insurance usually runs anywhere from $200-$350....there has recently been some confusion on the tax and from my understanding it should not be applied to ATV's (some companies are still charging it )

Well, thanks again everyone for the great advice... I think I'll start him off with a mild grade first, buy myself a "peaty" type and get together for a little "family bonding" (gotta stay in the will ya know ) Sampled some 12yr. old Glenfiddich yesterday...it's amazing how much better it tastes after the first 2-3 glasses. We looked last year for the same thing but the young guy at CT talked us into getting the largest GT snow racer....and he was right. I can fit on it with my three yr. old and my wife can fit on it with both the 3yr. old and 1yr. old. Now our oldest loves to go on his own and has fun steering it down the hill. I'm 34yrs old and the kid at CT couldn't believe we were asking for a tobaggan...told him it's a "retro thing"
