  1. Canadian Tire has the Rapala on sale this week....you will be a believer in them if you watch someone who knows what they're doing with them..downright amazing.
  2. Truthfully I am pretty superstitious and was struggling with changing the boat name...now I get another Berts holder! Thanks Bud!! Maureen...you may be onto something, I'll consider the name change..although it may be harder to come up with an OFC name than a boat handle
  3. That's hilarious!! I was going to change the boat name but it does make sense....
  4. Just interested in receiving a few opinions on what options would be preferred when setting up a trolling motor on a swim platform as per attached pics. As you can see, the boat is already plumbed for fuel to the kicker. The platform will be reinforced. I'm having a bracket built for the motor, and long story short, an E-Z steer system between the I/O and kicker won't work due to the platform. Sooo.. long handled tiller? power or maual tilt? electric or manual start? remote fuel control? I think if I don't go with the tiller steering I'll look into the Panther Electro steer (http://www.marinetech.info/pmarine/pmarine_detail.php?sku=550102) as I don't want to pay $2500 for the autopilot system As previously discussed with Wayne, it's sickening how many $$ you can spend AFTER buying the boat!
  5. Wayne and Chris, best explanations I've read about the "airplane/boat/rivet" marketing machine! Aren't the big birds turning to composites now?
  6. I'm forwarding them this thread and will see if they have any "positions" available
  7. OH MAN....my Mother and Father in law are both vets....hmmm...have they been holding out on us all this time?
  8. Maybe it was something to do with your posts on the Musky thread?
  9. I just bought the Walker auto-stop & weight retreive riggers from Angling Outfitters...first set so can't tell you anything about them but do know you won't find a better price than what they offer.
  10. Just a quick note to let everyone know I'm part of a family owned insurance brokerage in Ingersoll Ontario. We can look after most of your insurance needs. Many thanks to those who have contacted me in the past and looking forward to future dealings. We work hard to provide the service you expect..and maybe a little harder for OFC'rs! My contact information: Andy White R.McNiven & Sons Insurance Brokers Inc. 167-169 Thames St. S. Ingersoll ON N5C 2T6 web: www.mcniveninsurance.com email: [email protected] Phone #519-485-3190
  11. Soooo...I guess we should all keep a list of each species record holders measurements on board...just in case? Would be a shame to pull into shore with the "second biggest" fish and it's too late to release
  12. Looking good!! Hey, is that some new V-tail I've never seen?
  13. Trust me, you DO NOT want a "driving without insurance" fine...if you think it's expensive now, just wait until after that fine. Mucho $$$$$$$
  14. Hey Wayne, Just some FYI, most insurers exclude marine/amphibious use on ATV's and in particular the Argo....I doubt you're worried about it but thought I'd throw it out there. What you need is a hovercraft
  15. Sanjaya...that you?? (from American Idol?)
  16. ....combined with barking spiders they are a lethal combination!!
  17. Hmmm...I'm a broker and when I bought the boat in the U.S. I simply called my company with the Serial numbers and values, explained I had a bill of sale and ownership signed over to me, they didn't have an issue and covered me for the trip home. You may be able to arrange for a new policy outside of your house insurance with a specialty marine insurance company. In my humble opinion, you own the boat once it's paid and you have a receipt in hand so the natural market is your current insurer...we deal with a lot of this with people buying vehicles in the States as well.
  18. Hey, easy on the brokers!! You do get what you pay for I'd be happy to answer your questions Fishmaster if you want to shoot me a pm with your contact info. Again, not trying to solicit business but do enjoy helping out a fellow OFC'r
  19. If the budget can swing it...my choice would be a fly-in "up North," such as: http://www.wildernessnorth.com/fly-in-miminiska.php
  20. Great news Wayne! I can't wait to see an amphib pull up in London....
  21. I agree..I'm pricing a 9.9hp Mercury Prokicker and there is a $1000 price difference. I'm all for buying locally but hey, that money I save will go along way towards "brownie points" at home with the "boss"
