While at the Sportsman Show, the Daiwa rep, at LeBarons, showed me the Certate spinning reel. I'm like wow, sweeeet. Very smooth. Then he showed me the Steez. Holy crap, that is the lightest smoothest reel I have ever picked up. He told me some guy picked up 3 of em one day! If you are seriously looking at that reel, your best time woulda been during the no tax sale they had, Cuz theres a whole lotta tax on $500.

I have a chart emailed to me from Seaguar distinguishing the differences. But the leader material is much stiffer, more abbrasion resistance..... If you want it Golfisher, let me know, I'll email it to ya.

I believe he is thinking of using it a Port Dalhousie. You get snagged up alot there. Not only with rocks, but other fisherman. So I do see his concern in that respect. But the apps you mention Golfisher, I agree 100%. I've had a 25yd spool of Seaguar leader material for 3 years now!

I had the same question as you Mike, concerning the difference. I emailed Seaguar about it and they emailed me a chart. I'll send it to ya, there is a big difference. The spools with 200yds+ are meant to use as a main line. As mentioned in the TackleTour tests, they said the limper lines were weaker. If you check out the 25 yd spools, you'll see how stiff they are. Anyways Mike, I'll try to attatch it to a PM or I'll just email it to ya. Ted

Was thinking of picking up a spool Berkley Iron Silk. I knew someone who had it when it first came out, and from I saw of it, wasn't impressed. Frayed alot, broke often.....Was wondering if anyone has tried the new and so called improved one at all?

Wow, another sweet report. I still can't believe you are catching fish that shallow. Good stuff and it was a good read too.

My guess is they would be the Buzz Ramsey or Hank Parker, same rod, sig series. They are actually nice rods, have a 7'. Seen them elsewhere for $30, can't go wrong with the price BPS is offering.

Your best bet is somewhere in the Haliburton region. If you can get one of those Backroad Maps, or do some research on the net, sure you could find some camping available up there. After all, there are 100's of lakes up there. Wish I coulda gave you more specific areas, but I was thinking of doing the same thing as you.

Its only a good thing when the person(s) who rebuilt it knows what they are doing, not to mind, taking those extra steps in preventative measures is a plus.

I wouldn't say she fished perse, however, I enjoy when my wife comes along even though she mostly reads when I'm fishing. There was one-time we were fishing Rice Lake and she was reading a magazine while we drifted spinners, bam, she had a fish on, bent the hook straight! Would of loved to of seen it, but hey, got her adrenaline running.
