  1. Hey guys, I was fishing a creek in Oshawa today and lost a pair of my Maui Jim glasses. I just bought these glasses and they cost me and arm and a leg so if anyone has seen them or finds them can you please let me know. Saw a few guys down there so hopefully someone find them and returns them. Thanks guys. -Fishnpro
  2. You would be surprised at what 2 split shots and a hook can do out there
  3. You dont need a $500 rod unless your an attention seeking steelheader. When I first started off fishing steel I used a 10.5ft shimano rod and I could put just as many fish on the bank as those guys with they custom rods and all that crap. If you have sliding rings on your rod for your reel just play around with the position of the reel. I had the same problem with my IM6 when I bought it and that is what I did to fix the problem. I like my reel to sit high on the cork so I have a longer section to put under my arm when Im fighting a fish. I dont think that your rod is the problem, I think its where you have your reel sitting. You can go and buy a new rod if you want but whether you pay 100 or 500 for a rod they all make the same sound when they snap.
  4. Hey guys, love your show, I watch it all the time. Those are some nice whities and lakers. I was out last Thursday also and we had an amazing day(kinda we lost way more than we landed) but when we went back the following day we only had 1 whitie to show for our efforts. Guys where still catching fish but the key that day was to have sonar because the fish where suspended pretty high off the bottom. Did you have that same problem on Saturday?? This week looks like its gonna be a good one so maybe the bite will be on again. Hope to hear some more reports and maybe we will see you our there sometime. -fishnpro
  5. I think you`ve smoked one to many. Did you just join the forum today so you can defend this place from getting bashed?? It cant be that good of a place if you have all the customers complaining. I have buddies that have stayed there and said the same thing everyone else is saying. The fishing was lousy and so was the service.
  6. if you can get your hands on some kistlers and if the price is right id be interested. saves me the ride down to belleville.
  7. If they can fish bass all year long in the states then there is no reason we shouldn't be allowed to. You guys say bass get hit hard but think about all the other fish that get hit hard like walleye and steelies. I would love to see our bass season opened longer.
  8. 2 years ago I lost a rod to a pike on lake st.john and the same thing happened 2 weeks ago at the exact same spot! Now iv donated 2 rods and reels to the lake.
  9. I would not recommend going to johns for a couple days......the shore ice at the plant is gone and you have to walk across water to get on the ice and airport is the same. We walked over 3ft of water on logs just to get out onto the ice. Believe me its not worth the walk out there.
  10. Well I dont know anyone who is making custom ice rods but if you find out let me know. I was actually trying to find some the other day but nothing in Ontario. I'm looking for a medium heavy, 34"-38". Something nice and long for laker's and those quinte walleye.
  11. Just watched the the trailer and I think I might go rent it. Looks like a good movie.
  12. I remember feeding them last year and just watching the way the attack they`re prey. Its one of the coolest things iv ever seen. To bad my class didn't get to go out and release any but the weather that day was insane.
  13. Pinkies are my go to bait when nothing else is working. Rig em wacky style and let em drift. Also I find that the berkley 3" floating worms work better than the exude ones.
  14. Those are some nice fish bud! I bet with the weather we`ve been having this week the creeks should be good for the weekend. Let me know if your going to be heading out and maybe we can meet up....who knows maybe the pool that we spent an hour breaking ice in last weekend might be good lol.
  15. That last pic so reminds me of myself when I was a young lad.
  16. Love to fish that stretch myself on occasion.
  17. I broke my loomis walleye series last year on a 2.5lb eye and it took me forever to get it back to loomis...now they tell me I'm gonna have to wait a couple of weeks why they do some tests on the rod to see if it actually broke on a fish or not. How the hell do you test that? can someone explain to me? anyways like canadadude said, for $300 they should definitely stand behind their product. Don't get me wrong, best rod iv ever used but it definitely should not break on fish that are barely even average size. I have several avid rods also and haven't had a single problem yet.
  18. I have to agree with kemper, with the low water conditions right now Id take my chances chasing toothy critters. If you can make it down really early you might be able to pop a few but it doesnt last very long. I landed my PB 50" muskie last year at around the same time of year so I will be after some skies on friday mainly because of the lack of water in the east. Let us know how you do. Good Luck!
  19. All I was trying to say is why would you tell people seeing as how the crowds are big enough. I don't want to start anything so Im just gonna shut up now.
  20. Thanks for inviting more people to the east tribs, its not like we dont have enough already.
  21. And I thought I had a good day
  22. Can you do this with loose eggs? I read on another website that they eggs have to be in the skien still and I want to make a batch of it tonight but dont want to use a whole skien the first time I try it. Anyone?
  23. totally have to agree with sturgman, Wendel was the man.
  24. Depending on where you where fishing it might have been just another crackhead lol
