Hey Cliff...Syd just watched this and wants to know when we can go fishing again??
-
If you actually purchased the other products you had gathered, then you are a more forgiing person than I. If I take the time to check stock in advance by phone, get there and it isn't there....I am not spending a penny. As Roy stated, get the persons name. Stinks when this sort of thing happens....Hope you are able to find a rod that you are happy with!

Agree with Terry.....need to filter that word....nasty and foul! lol
-
Nice way to start a season! Always like the pictures you take. Keep up the good work!

Nice fish and report! One of these days I am going to get out that way to do some fishing with you....then you can take me to "your secret" spot and I can catch a sea robin lol Congratulations to Lago on the fish and the wedding!! Notice the goatee is getting a bit long

The boater was in the wrong. According to New Jersey regulations...... "It is unlawful to operate a PWC above idle speed within 50 feet of a shore or 50 feet of a person in the water." I could be wrong but I think that trolling would require the boat to be operating at a speed above "Idle". For additional information on New Jersey Boating laws and regulations visit: http://www.state.nj.us/njsp/maritime/ and http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Vehicle/Boats.htm. Also refer to New Jersey Statutes Annotated, Title 12 – Commerce and Navigation, which includes the New Jersey Boat Act of 1962, as amended. Go to http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/ and click on Statutes from the menu on the left to get to Title 12.

Morning DVD and VCR hook up. We have accomplished this 3 ways. 1 you can purchase a combo (VCR & DVD) unit. 2 You can purchase a switcher box that will allow you to switch between the 2. 3 (I prefer this set up) The stereo reciever is the "switcher box" Hook everything up to the stereo, you get stereo sound and just choose your source (TV, VCR, DVD, CD etc..) Enjoy the electronics shopping!!

Haven't hunted since I was a kid and never did hunt for moose so I won't comment on the bullets. although I think the silver tip is a good idea (werewolves and all). Have a great time, shoot lots and be safe! Look forward to the report Oh and the tiara is lovely lol

My Friends First Ever Salmon and My PB Brown Trout!
Bly replied to Minnow's topic in General Discussion
Love those browns Great job helping your friend catch his first salmon, to me that is even more rewarding. Too bad about the camera. We have dropped a few electronics in the water also (phones and a cheap camera), purchased a waterproof floating bag with neck strap for the phone that will allow you to dial and talk without removing it ($10). Depending on the size of your camera, it might fit. Happy fishing!! -
But other than that what have you been doing? Good to hear from you Roger. Sounds like you have had a wonderful and very busy summer. Look forward to seeing your pictures

Congratulations Brian and Ecmilley! Brian it looks like your luck is changing for the better!!
-
Thank you!! I realize that I have to choose the rod myself but all the input helps! Ecmilley.... I have been in gagnons many times in the past few weeks looking at different rods. They had some new rods in but the choices were still limited...will be going back but thought I would do some information gathering while waiting for new stock. Adding the St Croix and the Compre to the list to check out when they are in I am fairly happy with my pier/salmon rod (9ft) and my trout/float rod (12'6), the new rod will be more for the canoe, few boat trips (not trolling) and other shore areas. In the past few weeks, I have learned a few things about fishing rods... I need to learn to use a baitcaster As Fishnsled mentioned.....there is no standard in the business..one companys medium is anothers medium heavy etc. I need a bigger fishing budget
-
Thanks Raf Just curious as I have limited experience....why no use for the 6'6 or shorter?
-
Get back to work so I can afford to buy a good rod!!!
-
Good morning everyone! Recently my 2 favorite fishing rods were stolen. I have bought one replacement (Fenwick 2pc 6'6 medium) and although it is a fine fishing rod, it isn't quite "right"(*note to Mike the Pike and Greencoachdog...might explain my lack of fish lol), feels "flimsy" compared to my old Fen and it does not seem to like it when I toss a 1 ounce spoon or larger baits. Through this experience I have learned that I prefer one piece rods, still wavering about the 6'6 vs the 7'. Been doing a lot of reading about fishing rods and looking around and now I am at the point where I would like some input from the massive knowledge/experience base that is OFC Looking to get a medium-medium heavy one piece spinning rod Not completely decided on the length Fast.... Lure weight needs to allow for at least 3/4 ounce graphite I am 5'5 and mostly shore fish (will use it from a boat 0ccasionaly), would like to use this rod to fish (cast & retrieve) for pike/musky/those beautiful fall walleye. Looked at a few different ones..shimano, fenwick, and st. croix. Budget minded...would prefer to keep it around the $100 if possible. Thoughts?? Over all experiences with manufacturer/warranty etc.??? Recommendations?? Anything that I may have missed and need to consider?? Thank you and I hope that everyone is not tired of questions like this.
-
Hmmmm....So I need to go out and buy a proper musky rod and then fish with it at my favorite walleye spot.....got it! Glad to hear that you got out and even if you didn't catch what you wanted, you caught a nice fish. Oh and if no one else on our team catches a musky....you are in big trouble for not taking a picture LOL

Welcome to the board! Look forward to your reports!
-
Congratulations on the new PB
-
2 new species, that is excellent! I have really enjoyed following your quest this year! I concur with Joey ...smart man for keeping the wife happy , might even bring you some good fishing karma for your next outing!!
-
Congratulations on your first salmon! They sure are fun. The tackle losses can get to you but in time, you learn where to cast on how to retrieve to limit the losses! We have a few cell phone pictures also, never seems to fail that when you forget the good camera, someone lands a nice one! Note*You can't fool the fishing gods by deliberately leaving the camera home lol
-
Very entertaining! Thanks for taking the time to put that together! Fishing isn't always about catching the big one or even what you are targeting, your report is a nice reminder of that and to just have fun!!
-
Great read!! Ahhh the fun and fear of finding new night fishing locations around the GTA, always a small wonder if you are going to end up on the news as victim or witness! Congrats on the great night!! Tackle losses and all seem worth it when you have a night like that! Look forward to more of your reports.
