Weedless prop for 12 volt motor guide?
Sour_Squirrel replied to Tjames09's topic in General Discussion
There's no such thing as a weedless prop for Motorguide trolling motors. Buy a Minn Kota !! -
What kind of engine and hp ? If you're interested I have a stainless steel skeg guard just like the one in the picture above. It's for a 75-90 hp Johnson/Evinrude Let me know if you're interested in it.

I agree with keeping the old motor. I have a 2003 E-Tec 90 that I run on my Lund. It has over 800 hrs on it and it still runs strong without any issues. It starts with the first crank in both cold and hot weather. It has never overheated and still pulls strong. I don't abuse my motor by running it full throttle. One important thing to do is to make sure you do the maintenance on a regular schedule. I follow the 3 yr or 300 hour service interval. Save yourself the $12,000+ I'm sure you can find a better use for your money.....

Now really. What can the turd at the Marina really do if those guys would would stayed there to fish? I don't think the police would have done anything as no laws were being broken. It's the same people that own and operate the big boats that don't know the rules of the water when going in and out of the marinas. So many times when I had the right of way some jerk pulls in front of me with his big dollar fancy boat. These people are snooty turds that don't have respect for anyone but themselves. Let's organize a fishing day in waters by the Coburg Marina !!

It's a bit old school with the Centerlines and traction bars but still turns heads. It looks impressive just standing still with its stinky exhaust and lumpy rough idle....

Ever wonder why it's such a bad thing to be a person that fishes and lives in the big city (Toronto)? Seems that when people find out that you fish they look at you like you're some sort of savage beast or animal killer. I know I'm not alone on this. But on the flip side there are so many anglers out there. Just look at how many people attend the Toronto Sportsman Show. People's attitudes and acceptance of fishing is different in other cities as an example, Barrie and Belleville. Even while in Florida fishing is a big part of the lifestyle there. Hmmm....

Pflueger Patriarch spinning reel…...
Sour_Squirrel replied to Billy - Curtiss's topic in General Discussion
Excellent reel. I have a 9530. As long as you take care of the reel (clean and lube) it should last for years. Super smooth and lightweight. Looks nice too..... -
I have two Interstate MegaTrons group 27 deep cycle batteries powering my Minn Kota. Bought them in the spring of 2013. I had one of them fail at the end of last season. Replaced under warranty. Still consider them excellent batteries. Had a set in my old boat that lasted 5 yrs without any issues.

People like to write what they believe is correct even though they have no first hand experience. My earlier post I wrote that Yamaha sucks back more fuel than a E-Tec. I also wrote that my boat originally came with a Yamaha and I repowered with a E-Tec. So I know first hand that a Yamaha uses more fuel. And making a comment about a comparably sized outboard of one brand using less fuel is not like some guy buying a full sized 4x4 pickup and complaining about bad fuel economy. I had a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.7 HO. I now drive a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel. Guess which one uses less fuel....
-
You can actually order the new HO E-Tecs with different colour cowls and trim to match the colour scheme of your boat.
-
Yamaha's suck back way too much fuel. Had one originally on my Lund, switched to a Evinrude E-Tec and noticed a big difference. The Evinrude uses about 30% less fuel. Don't like the look of the new E-Tec HO engines though. They look like they belong in a Transformer movie....!!
