  1. Bill we do the same! DMAX all the way. Hauled 12000 lbs with her last week lol But like others have said. If tow/haul is an option in your truck. Use it while hauling the boat. Does the truck have the 5.4 triton? Or 5.0? Either way. Truck will handle the boat no problem. Turn OD off before hills Increasing your speed 5-10 km/hr at the bottom of a hill will also help you. Have fun fishing! Luke
  2. Those muscles must me mighty delicious That's risky business right there
  3. One bolt of lightening sent us running for shore For really choppy very fast 1 footers to 3 foot swells in 5 minutes Here's a couple more pics
  4. Yes! Very Erie. Over lake O it looks like she's gunna pour This is what I faced two miles from shore on Friday evening. Was not a fun ride back
  5. Pure win Way to go Chris! A pair of flippers and your good to go!!!!
  6. Nice perch! I'll be there all weekend
  7. I'm sure it is very doable. Just keep in mind that pushing the weight of the engine back causes a large moment arm on the transom. (Higher torque) I only have experience with raising my tiller motor to help with hole shot. The plate u linked looks like it will help distribute the extra load evenly across a larger surface. Which will help the life of your transom.
  8. Replaced mine this spring. Pressure treat lumber was used. Coated it 3 times is a clear sealer. Let it dry for 7 days to get good and hard. Covered with bunk carpet from marina added new brackets and bolts. And she will be good for another 10 years.
  9. It's zoned NOTL it's right beside The main exit for the QEW Perfect location. Stops people from going to the states Sense population with Niagara Falls, NY and Hamilton only 25 mins away
  10. This is old news Been underconstruction for the past 6 months I live on the same street they are building it. There goes my bank account lol But we need a cabellas bad!!!
  11. Proctor Marine gets my vote as well Talk to Doug great salesman willing to help at all costs Kept my boat for a week to make it get on plane better He even took it out on the lake twice to ensure it was just right. (No cost to me) They are carrying crestliner boats. Which are awesome Back when we bought our boat he was selling starcrafts I would definitely be calling him!
  12. I will pick up a battery and give it a try! Thanks guys
  13. Here's the problem bill My tinner only has room for one big battery for the trolling motor I don't have a cranking battery it's a pull start tiller What battery should I be looking at for the graph?
  14. i wonder if this is the exact same problem i am having trolling motor and sonar hooked up to the same battery sometimes the graph doesnt work at all. Just shows "snow" and a depth of 2-3' if i turn off the trolling motor and reset the sonar it usually fixes the problem Dont want to hijack this thread but it seems to be the same problem My boat only has one battery, If i were to get one for my graph only what should I be looking at getting? Thanks Luke
  15. Is it a brand new 20hp? If so see if u can trade it in with the dealer and get a boat/motor/trailer package before you move As others have said your underpowered with a 20 Maybe consider a 14 footer the 20 would be great on a 14 footer
  16. Most guys on here will vote for st. Croix I would second that vote!
  17. Sounds like a fuel issue Maybe a dirty filter How old is your tank? Have you ever cleaned the sand/dirt out of the bottom? Could also be the engine loosing prime as drifter pointed out
  18. Yes. I am a member of the St. Catharines bassmasters. We have 9 club tournaments this year plus there are lots of open tournaments on Lake Erie I hope to be fishing with friends. Enter as a non-boater, random draw to be paired with a boater. Some tournaments are single events (biggest 4 fish) some are team (5 fish between you and your boater) and we are doing one mixed bag tournament (3 largemouth 2 smallmouth) Lots of fun. Great people. Great connections Tight lines
  19. For me I think tournaments are all about attitude and preparation. Studying the body of water weeks in advanced. Watching the weather and forecast and then actually practicing on that body of water. The more prep the more confidence you can have that the fish will b where you think they are. It's all about knowing that you can get bit on the very next cast and that fish will be a game changer For my limited tournament experience I placed 2nd of 25 just 8oz behind the winner and I had big fish last fall out on Erie My first I bombed. New water no practice placed in 25th of 50 This year I will be doing 10-15 tournaments all from the back of other people's boats. Should be a great learning experience! Good luck (sometimes that's what it comes down too)
  20. My girlfriend got me a year subscription for my birthday this year!!!!!! It's great!!! March's box Luke

  23. Look at "walleye"/"crappie" boats Most are wider and deeper and will handle rough water excellently Ranger 620 would be my number 1 choice Next choice would be a triton 202 (was on Erie in November and she was rolling 6 footers and that boat was awesome) You would be surprised to realise the draft of the walleye boats isn't much more than a bass boat Edit to add: Lund Pro V are a great boat aswell Very versitile handle rough water very well
  24. Excellent footage thanks for sharing!
