  1. Dangerously LOW!!!! Red Cedar was at least 6 feet low last week.... Temagami River is usually suicide at this time of year but can be walked across in some spots that my kids swim in. If we get no or little rain I would foresee a Fire Ban for opener. RFS
  2. Mattagami River is right on the money.... just go where all the other people are. The river will have a TON of people on it mostly targeting Walleye. stick with the simple stuff... Jig & Minnow combo... Chartreuse/Orange 3/8 jig and a 2"-2.5" red/yellow Dace minnow... can't go wrong. Good Luck!(not that you're gonna need it)
  3. It's 10:00 ...Go to bed you have school tomorrow... Besides you're black and white and riding a tortoise i don't think that you're 12. RFS
  4. :thumbsup_anim: A guy in a Walleye Tournament takes a high speed 1/2oz. jig right in the crotch. Writhing in agony, he falls to the deck of the boat. As soon as he could manage, he took himself to the doctor. He said 'How bad is it doc? I'm going on my honeymoon next week and my fiancee is still a virgin - in every way' The doctor told him, 'I'll have to put your Willie in a splint to let it heal and keep it straight. It should be okay next week.' He took four tongue depressors and formed a neat little 4 sided splint, and taped it all together; an impressive work of art. The guy mentions none of this to his girl, marries her, and goes on their honeymoon. That night in the motel room, she rips open her blouse to reveal her beautiful breasts. She said, 'You're the first; no one has EVER touched these.' He immediately drops his pants and replies, 'Look at this............still in the CRATE!' RFS

  8. Truly Canadian A guy traveling through the USA on vacation lost his wallet and all of his identification. Cutting his trip short, he attempted to make his way home but was stopped by the Canadian Customs Agent at the border. "May I see your identification, please?" asked the agent. "I'm sorry, but I lost my wallet," replied the guy. "Sure buddy, I hear that every day. No ID, no entry," said the agent. "But I can prove I'm a Canadian!" he exclaimed."I have a picture of Celine Dion tattooed on one side of my butt and Shania Twain on the other." "This I gotta see," replied the agent. With that, the guy dropped his pants and showed the agent his behind. "By golly, you're right!" exclaimed the agent. "Have a safe trip back to Ottawa" Thanks!" he said. "But how did you know I was from Ottawa ?" The agent replied, "I recognized Stephen Harper in the middle." ----------------------------------------------------------------- RFS
  9. I have had very very good success with my Lab/Shep mix and also my Min Pin by following " Caesar Milan" The Dog Whisperer ..... Really worth it..... RFS
  10. I just got back from looking for Smelts in the Sturgeon River.. . WOW!!!! Never have I seen Smelts like that!!!! Wave on Wave.... and it's still very early... ! could imagine what it will look like later. One would be able to fill a 5 gallon pain in minutes. Not so many Walleye though ... seen about 7 of 'em. Sturgeon River is Sanctuary... 'til opener. With the abundance of these little fish they could let us fish for 'em. Now this terrible picture doesn't do it any justice.... taken with a HP Photosmart M537 6MgP camera. Randy
  11. Those are both great !!! This one is better!!! RFS
  12. An elderly man in Louisiana had owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back. It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple, and peach trees. One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end. One of the women shouted to him, 'we're not coming out until you leave!' The old man frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.' Holding the bucket up he said, 'I'm here to feed the alligator...' Some old men can still think fast.
  13. EH!! I see that you're from Monetville...In the picture, that cedar you have is probably a Bernie Boat ... RFS
  14. Bernie would know best!! I've painted ,varnished, stained, teak oiled ,stored, launched, ran, winterized , and summerized these things... You may laugh or shake your head... but... SINK IT!!! Yes ... sink it for a few days every spring!! That's what we did with a fleet of 25 Giesler cedar strip boats every year. It allows the wood to swell and stop all leaks caused by drying , shrinkage...then we threw an outboard on it and the tourists would run them all summer long... most of the boats were over 15 years old.. just goes to show that Bernie's family know what they're doing My boss would have us spray Thompson's Water Seal on the inside ..and we would paint the hull.... some looked like but would not leak a drop and run just as good as a new one. And to this day there's nothing like crossing Nipissing on a rough day in a Bernie Boat ... great boats for rough water. Enjoy it!! RFS
  15. EH! I've tried "grunting" with a 2x4 and a 2x6 with some success... Electrifying the grass with a battery and coathangers works as well but seems to decrease the worms life.. Given your circumstance with no lawn to pick... I'd go to the nearest cemetery after a rain or the neighbors flower garden... look around house foundations..or ball fields... you can keep hundreds of them in the shade in a cooler with damp newspaper, sod and coffee grounds... they'll last forever. Also when you attempt to grab the worm .. aim for the hole rather than the worm, try not to shine your light directly on the worm. It won't get spooked.. tread lightly and you'll have success. GOOD LUCK! RFS
  16. ......................................................................... That's the kinda stuff I use as well.... very informative. RFS

  18. I just got back from speaking with my local C/O's Even if it's not listed it may be a sanctuary. They quickly pointed out page 1 of the 2010 regs. top right hand corner "Important Notice" " This is a summary of information dealing with fishing licenses and fishing laws. This summary is neither a legal document nor a complete collection of the current regulations. It is meant to be a convenient reference only". I asked them about Laronde Creek and the Little Sturgeon River. They told me that all tributaries on the North shore of Nipissing are a sanctuary up to Hwy 17 or the nearest elevation ie Rapid or Dam or unless otherwise posted in the Exceptions. Randy
  19. They sure are!!! Ya can just look at them though.. unless you have a magic card. The whole of lake Nipissing is closed 'til opening day even Smelts and Coarse fish. That's too bad... we used to have a blast catching them and would have an even bigger blast cooking and eating them with a cold beer in hand. RFS
  20. That sucks !!! RFS
  21. Oh!Just noticed the spinner you have hanging from your mirror . I had one of those hanging in the "hooks down" position... I learned the hard way, that YOUR way is the right way! While exiting Tim Horton's .. My mirror mounted decoration S/B swung over and stung me in the palm while I was turning right... I ended up tearing the mirror clean off the windshield and snapping my navigation wires off. My wife pulled the hook out while laughing uncontrollably .It cost me 125.00$ in repairs... My spinner now hangs upside down too. RFS
  22. Figure out the cost of a replacement + repairs + certification and registration maybe an insurance hike. Throw a re-cert on your truck and a little body work.... just guessing let's say 2000.00$ probably less.. and she's good to go for another pile o' miles. Now since you have an affordable and reliable truck that's always in the right gear " I love the standard"... Try this for 1 year... attempt to save the equivalent of a lease or right out financed purchase of a new truck. Do the math and buy a boat.!! I considered changing my Expedition this year and found out that I have a GREAT machine that works well and is reliable and is mine. The money saved by not buying a new ride .. is gettin' my family and I a new to us travel trailer. I'd say keep the F-150. RFS
  23. X2 Does anyone have an opinion on this? comments? Here's mine! Randy
