  1. Sorry Dude.... I can see it... even the anal fin. http://bluewalleyes.wikidot.com/what-is-a-blue-pike Randy
  2. I remember watching the old "Fish On" T.V show.. the one that always ended with a high speed "Fly Tie" They had said that the only real way to identify a "Blue Walleye" is that it DOES NOT have the white spot on the tail...and had also said that they were extinct...which I believe is true. Even "In-Fisherman" spoke of this extinct species in a recent episode. Habitat and fungus was the culprit for mis-identification. Although, I have caught A LOT of "Blue Tinged Walleye" from Nipissing and other lakes... but have never caught a true Blue. Randy
  3. No Randy
  4. I've been using that knot for 25 years or more never knew the actual name... Hmmm. fast & simple , great knot strength http://www.netknots.com/html/san_diego_jam_knot.html Randy
  5. Eh! Jim... these are "approved" Walleye ..... Jocko Point chip stand has a fresh Walleye dinner on. Never tried it , never will. Randy
  6. No major Hazzards on Nepewassi.... Are you Gonna launch @ Vacationland in Estaire? Try Barlow Bay south east of Vacationland .... Walleye are 'kinda hard to catch there with the TONS of boat traffic.the evenin' bite is not bad just look for anchored boats..'been fishin Nep for about 30 years now and have had hit and miss success everywhere for the Eyes.... Musky and Pike are easier to catch in Nepewassi than the Eyes. Good Luck RFS
  7. I'm 20 minutes away... and will see what I can do. Randy
  8. Use a 45 gallon drum and a 5 gallon pail instead as for P3ta...People Eating Tasty Animals.... vermin kebab. Randy
  9. Peanut-Butter-Tilt-A-Whirl.... Works like a charm!!!! I've caught my fair share of vermin with this ...smear the can with peanut butter.. and add about 8" of water at the bottom of the pail ... vermin jump onto the can the can spins and the falls into the water below. I've drowned from Mice to Black Squirrels with this ... I leave it in my shed....armed and ready to go. Make sure to have a stick or ruler for them to climb up onto the edge of the pail.. Or this can work well too...my Min-Pin ,Paris. Randy
  10. Sturgeon Falls Auto Sports & Marine has a regular deal going on for 2x Kawasaki KVF on a trailer for 10.999$ and 2x Arctic Cats 400 automatic for 11.999$ (same bike) one has independant rear and one is solid.... a TON of people I know bough these love them. IMHO... this go BIG or go home attitude with ATV's is ridiculous I remember when if you had a Honda Big Red 250cc R Shaft drive 3 wheeler ... well YOU WERE THE MAN!!!!!!! now 600 is a small bike. Unless you're going to attend weekend mudbogs these bikes would be fine. Randy
  11. Sign stayed the same height... I just got more
  12. Duramax from Canadian Tire will do the trick @ 119.00$ 32lbs thrust and a 2 year warranty.. + a 24 or 27 series Deep Cycle battery and you'll be good to go. http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/5/SportsRec/Marine/TrollingMotors/PRD~0798502P/12V%252BShaft%252BTrolling%252BMotor.jsp?locale=en Randy
  13. The motor started smoking up? The motor is underwater when in use ...did it start smoking under the hood? or the base where the unit attaches to the bow? regardless bring it back... If you try to fix it yourself they might accuse you of tampering with it and void the warranty. who knows they might just give ya a new one. Randy
  14. I have an extra 60Lbs of to drag up that pole...I'm not so sure that the sign would've held the extra . Randy
  15. Before my wife and I had kids ... I stopped along-side highway 17 and hung on a sign bearing my last name. For the first time in a long time I got to drive back from Ottawa during daylight hours and decided to stop and take a pic with the kids. Randy
  16. I shortened the length of my bottom legs from 36" - 24" so it can fit through the camper door.... Randy
  17. Although it's a nice looking unit.. I wouldn't want it. Not my style ... congrats to the individual who won it. NEVER BUY OR INHERIT A TOURNEY OR SPONSORED BOAT!!! (from experience) RFS
  18. Walleye fillets to be had at almost every smoke shop on hwy 17 between North Bay and Sturgeon. Randy
  19. Here it is... this is after I shortened it by a foot and added hardwood dowel, a coat hook and score #'s.... We play to 21pts. ... distance between ladders is about 20'. The rope is 1/4 nylon and a foot between balls. Randy
  20. Bang on the $$$$........ Do it once do it right.... While you're there a slather of any of the above mentioned products over the exposed rivets wouldn't hurt either..... "GOOP Marine" works wonders as well. Randy
  21. That's what I meant... It sounds different in my head with a French accent.. Randy
  22. Pokin' at the bees nest ? Ethically ... Once the angler has caught his/her limit the rod should be put away. But......... after a few wobbly pops who cares????????? Most guides I know of on Nip have a cooler or livewell full of fish at the end of the day and divi'em up once the get to the dock. Our local C/O's never bother the guides for this... In fact one of our local C/O's is a guide himself. As for Ice fishing??????? makes no sense to me ... I'm not about to stand beside a line that's going down and wait for my buddy to come runnin' out of the shack to miss it.... I'll set the hook and bring it and throw it in the pile. Besides probably too much paper-work for the C/O's to enforce. Fishin's always a party! RFS
