  1. Freedom Grill FG50!! I've had this thing for 4 years now and no problems whatsoever!! Really , it's guaranteed 3 years or 30.000 Miles... It comes with me everywhere I go. I saved 150$ by BBQ'n in the parking lot at Canada's Wonderland VS buying their food:clapping: I brought it to cook lunch at the little Callander Bay G2G It's made to stay on your hitch or removes for table top use.. It sits on a swivel that takes a 2.5" tube .. very easy to install on a pedestal seat post.. tough as nails an cooks a great steak.. You'd have a ton of room on your boat for it. http://www.freedomgrill.com I love it! Randy
  2. Closed at the gate .. there is no public access to Obabika.. the only 2 ways in are on private property (always was) Herberger used to let people cross his property and so did Goulard but not anymore... unless you have a plane (Wayne) you're euchred .. I have a friend that is a cabana girl there and gets paid a ridiculous amount and not to mention hefty tips... Lakers are closed permanently Smallies are abundant and there are tons of trophy Pike .. man I would love to have again ..public access HWY 805 Group are lobbying to have a swath of land cleared for access... It's been in the works for about 15 years now... I'm not holding my breath.
  3. It's an educated guess ,it almost has to Obabika... Camp Manitou sold off their assets to L&G Landscaping and they sold off the camps to the public, Blue Demon is a campground with a few housekeeping rentals.. Emerald Lake lodge is a housekeeping and trailer campground as well...Out of the four camps north of River Valley, the only "real lodge" on HWY 805 is Obabika.
  4. Congrats MOOSEBUNK!!!!!!! :clapping: I'm looking forward to your post!! Enjoy yourselves... Randy
  5. I did it for 6 years when I was younger.. From Schefferville P.Q... to Attawapiskat....Winisk...Revelstoke and the French River........ Awesome jobs if you can hack it. If I could do it all over again I would, in a heart beat.
  6. I cut the brake lines on my wife's Mazda6 this morning
  7. Do you want to keep this rifle as a collectors item or just wanna fire it on weekends? I just called my bud Steve H .. a well known award winning gunsmith and asked him the price based on your info... the most he'd estimate it sight unseen is 500.00( rifle only) at best 750.00 scope is fair market value at 200.00$ I have here a model 98 re-chambered from 9mm to 7.62 NATO (308WIN) basically the same rifle (cheaper version mass produced) that shoots just as well as the SS80... I bought it for 65$ at Le Baron in 1990... It as most re-chambered Mausers has an extractor clip problem... the clips are available at almost any gun shop. Randy
  8. I can tell you that I used to own one of these.. filled and re-bored to a 7.62(308).. from .35 I chewed up extractor clips (an extension of the catch tooth is another required modification when re-bored) (probably impossible to find nowadays)... It has a Mauser action and was as smooth as butter and very accurate..and heavy , If i remember correctly ..just about 8 1/2lbs.. (because of the extractor clip) not very reliable a good shootin' rifle nonetheless..I sold mine in 1994 for 300.00 including 6 extractor clips. I had bought it from Le Baron for 65$ in 1988. I'm a former member of the now disbanded Canadian Rifle team and have shot and owned a ton of rifles... If you don't already have one and are gonna use the SS. Y'a might wanna look into a Lee Enfield 303 MkII, III, IV instead... I know it's not a Fine German Machine but...... It's way cheaper to shoot ,much more reliable ,not quite as smooth ,almost as accurate, I love the peep sights(accuracy depends on the shooter) and parts are very easy to come by VS the SS Mauser... you will not sacrifice much with the 303 vs 30.06 except the long range. If I could recommend a rifle ... Over all, the best I've owned is a Remington model 700 bolt action .308.. ( Javex bottles @ 650yds with ease) Hands down the most accurate civilian rifle ever made... followed closely by their 7400 semi-auto,relatively cheap and extremely reliable. my 2 cents Randy

  13. I support people with developmental and physical disabilities and often take them fishing... not everyone with a disability can qualify for a parking permit some of my clients have a laminated ODSB check stub as their license ..along with proper I.D ... I have contacted the MNR and spoke to CO's about this and was their recommendation. Over the years we have been checked a few times and there were no problems. Randy

  15. Congrats!! Great report, mon bud!
  16. Yep... Vintage Dutrisac Cottages postcards show some Lakers caught in the Upper French back in the 60's... my Father-In-Law caught one by Franks Point in 1990 (Ice)..... my bud Tony a local school teacher caught one 3lbs or so off the Cache Bay dock 22 years ago on opening weekend I was there to see it... he was jumping around like a fool yelling ; "Une Grise, Une Grise!!".( Tony not the trout)....... Atlantic Salmon are a native species in Nipissing according to the local Stewardship Council....... I posted a picture of a Member's dad catching one in downtown Sturgeon Falls 2 years ago... more than a few are caught every year .. mostly in the fall. I also know that there are Specks in there (catch me if you can) I've heard from tourists from Ohio that were staying at Chaudiere Lodge when I worked there.. that they witnessed Paddlefish spawning in Twilight Bay.... the lake is huge and there is really no telling what's in there. Don't expect to come to Nipissing and catch a Laker , Chinny, Speck or Paddlefish.. Randy
