My Father In Law operates the Dams and the Power Plant here in Sturgeon Falls .... As of 15 minutes ago the Turbines are at full capacity 7500 CMM and there are also 3.5 gates open at 10,000 CMM ... NEVER has this happened this early in the year.... Now with that said , the Sturgeon River watershed ( it is HUGE)is draining fast, really fast. With Nipissing as low as it is today , about 3' low.... Sorry to burst some bubbles , I love this beautiful weather as much as the next guy but..... I'm wishing for HEAVY April rains .... If this weather keeps up the spawn will happen almost a month early ... Thus throwing everything off kilter this opening weekend . Randy

Highway 17 is the boundary....I just figured that the highway including the shoulder is about 80' wide .... North side is good to go...

For the last few years local COs have been laying charges on the south side of HWY 17 between Sturgeon and North Bay ... ie: McInnis Cr, Mosquito Cr, Laronde Cr and the Little Sturgeon River .... North side of 17 so 80' away you're legal... Their fines were ' fishing in a sanctuary' and possession of OOS fish.... I know a guy who was on his 2nd offense and got dinged for 850$ Randy

I used to love my cork ....I loved the firmness and sensitivity ... but after holding my wet cork all day, my hand got itchy ..I had to rub my cork for relief... I after 15 years have since switched to foam .. It's softer,thicker and more slimy than the cork I love ... I may have an allergy to cork ... so,soft ,thick and wet are what I have to settle with.. My wife on the other hand ,loves it and can handle the cork, with both hands ... She's ambidextrous . Randy

The right...

Split the cable ... Send one to the BOX and another to the VCR ... Then use your AV ( red , yellow , white) and hook em up to the input on your TV... This way you totally by-pass the Cable Box ... I did exactly what I described for the TV in my Man Cave ... I hope that my instructions are clear. Good Luck! Randy

Wow.. I used to buy expensive rods 150-200$ range from G Loomis and St.Croix .... I quickly found out that the break just as fast as a 49.99$ unit. I can no longer bring myself to spend that kind of $ on a rod.. I've found a happy medium with the Berkley Lightning Shock series. Good Luck with your purchases. R

Love It!!! what an overlooked observation .... I agree .... I must admit that I will keep watching WFN... I know I'm wasting $ on basically 6 shows that air a few times a week that I have no time to watch to begin with .. That's why I also waste $ on a PVR that has a full memory bank ... I've done it while snorkeling ... It's something to see ( not spotting for anyone) it's something to see ... This show is getting old pretty quick ... I also stopped watching it along with Hooked on Utah and few others . Randy

I've never heard of getting charged for taking a picture of an under sized fish , folks to it all the time , I guess that that would also apply to a slot size Walleye, I suppose if the fish was kept out of the water for an extended period of time it would be different, but on the other hand it is in your possession... As for a court date yes, you must attend court , I was once charged for fishing in a sanctuary ( misprint in regulations 2005 for then Zone 27) I fought it in court and won my case.. Randy

When spooling up make sure that the fresh spool is lying flat on the floor and that the line is coming off the spool in the same direction that the reel is turning... give it 20 or so handle turns and give your line some slack if it twists , it's on backwards .... If so strip the line off the reel , pinch the line , strip it through your fingers , flip the new spool re-tie and reel up .... Now it's on the right way... When spooling up , sticker side down is usually the right way. ... Don't use a pen or screwdriver or whatever to spool up a spincast ... Randy
