  7. think outside the box; get it for the camp not the relatives buy some wild rice it's a long grain...give them various paint jobs with nail polish, Super Glue some hooks and a lip on 'em? Give it to them like a "Ship in a Bottle" or a "Box Frame"......... That way you can be guaranteed that it will find a place on the mantle and never end up stuck on a stump or lost to a Smallie... It's just an idea.... something I would do. Randy
  8. You can buy these fish at "Sysco" or many grocery stores under the name of "European Pickerel" tastes and looks just like Walleye and cheaper than buying them at the "fish market"..... If I'm not mistaken restauranteurs in Minnestoa were charged for selling them as Walleye. (zander vitreus vitreus)..... I've always wanted to go to Holland and try my luck... apparently the average Zander is larger than our average Walleye (excluding Quinte) and the world records for both species are pretty close. Randy

  15. It's not at all unreasonable...40$ or so seems to be about the going rate. As for a plug kit.... Hmmm... good to have in a jam but should be for temporary use only... I used to be a Tire Buster at a few shops and recently quit selling auto parts... we supplied garages with their tire repair supplies... as far as I know the only legal tire repair in Ontario on LT or P or ST series tire is a Combi-Patch or Patch/Plug.... Looks like this... Garages might sell the unit for 10$ or more depending on the size of the puncture.. 40$ or so is worth it.. consider that the tire is re-inflated,dunked in a tank to find the leak/s, deflated, put on a machine ,taken off the wheel, put in a Tire-Vise , puncture hole is reamed and ground down from the inside, cleaned , adhesive is added, the 10$ or more Patch/Plug is pulled through the reamed puncture hole and stuck onto the adhesive and is then passed under a variety of rollers.... put back onto the wheel..re-inflated, dunked again in a tank.. and put on another machine to balance it.... And as mentioned above... if you bring in a car-less wheel/tire the cost would probably be cheaper. Randy
  16. I caught some of these.... I had no clue what they were .. but I ate it anyway....not bad at all..
  17. Under 25" = 3 fillets ... one from the back and two from the sides...stop short at the dorsal/anal fin to avoid the Y bones. Over 25" = 5 fillets ... one from the back and two from the sides and two from the tail behind the dorsal and anal fins.... totally boneless.... wrap those up in foil and go at 'er. I use Butter Pam on the foil Garlic Butter between the fillets and seasoned with Epicure Lemon Dilly spice with fresh Chives. Medium Heat for 6min/side. They're also very good on a soaked Cedar plank. Randy
  18. Put the tarp on the cover.... and what Roy said. Randy
