Been out with opererators mitchells in beaverton, then up to the cottage to a summer hot spot 3 of them actally but no luck... I used a variety of techniques, minnow tip bad boy, rap jigs, plastics, tube, spreader... big jigs, little twichs, not moving , random movements..... just got beat thats it

I think thats it for me and ice fishing.........Went to "old faithful lake" today and got skunked. I haven't caught even a cold this winter ice fishing. Im so aggrivated... beautiful day!!!! wow no gloves open coat and a sunburn to boot!!!! heres a few pics. enjoy!!! maybe a power auger would help???? after slamming holes into 24-30 inches of ice all day for nothing maybe thats why im so fed up with this marvelous, can't get any better sport!! lol.. Hope anyone out today had better luck then me.

anyone got any tips for me? I have a 14' lund deep with a 15hp honda four. I am going to start the lake O salmon this year. My set up is 2 big john electrics that I bought a few years back and some spoons ( have no clue were I got em) I live in ajax so I am gona be out at both nuke plants (pickering and darlington) but I really don't have a good idea on speeds or baits or even how far out from the cannon ball I should be back with my baits. I used to fish salmon as a kid with a family friend my biggest was a 28pnd chin, with a serious coho at one time as big as a carp but lost it ( insert fish story here) ever since then I have had the itch to go out again but never had the means till now. Any ideas on how to get a good start for speeds? or baits?

Hey everyone!!!! I am heading out to my cottage tomorrow its on bob's lake north of Kingston going for the last ice fish of the season. I was wondering if anyone know what I am in for as far as conditions.??????? But I am hoping to get a couple fish for my pan.... Any suggestions on baits? techniques? anything would be welcome as I am skunked this season. Wow I am asking alot today!!?? lol.

just a quick post of a picture from a weekend in early oct. it was a great time with a few friends.. one boat didnt even have a motor I towed it with my boat just so we could get out that day.

gona gear up my boat this weekend.... I have a lilttle 14' lund with 15 honda 4stroke... I am gona transform it in the next little while, I have two big john electric dwnrgs, to add and a 2 live wells to build and add. then im gona put a floor in in and make it a two seater that I can set up quickly enough to go for salmon in lakeO and then head to the smaller lakes for the pik's and pike. I have so many gadgets that I have bought but never get around to adding to my boat..(normally as soon as I see it I gota fish). I am a little too excited the missus is calling me obsessed! Can't wait............. Can't wait.............Can't wait.

My missus fishes mith me but...... I gota make sure she has food, her cell phone (with service) and I gota take all the fish off...lol... She likes trolling at night for pik's.... Whe're getting married this winter coming and the honeymoon is in belize for the tarpon fishing uh I mean beaches...lol... I guess the next step is to get a pic of her with a fish.

It is so horrible what these "sales" people do. It's unfortunate beacuse what they get paid is 7 dollars for a electric deal and 14-30 for a gas deal. Its amazing that people will lie and cheat for this. I do feel bad for these people though cause they are the ones that are being paid commision to go door to door 50+ hours a week for a check that comes to around 150 dollars if they are lucky. I know they are scamming and that its infuriating I just feel kinda bad for them. And I know I am the only one defending these poor people but thats because I used to (5+) years ago was one of the bigger fish in the deregulated energy market marketing campaigns. I know I know I apologize I am sorry but I did leave because of the ethics that were involved. I am not a good liar or thief. I can though now if you want any help give it. Hope noone hates me now lol.

whoa. Be very careful. Make sure the motor is running properly first. Older motors that get rebuilt usally overheated to the point of engine seizure. A 9.9 is the cottage motor that get beaten up for years and stored improperly. 500 bucks for a motor is still a good deal but there are alot of reasons why.... Coils, carbs, impellers. there is alot involved... Find out if they have changed the impeller for the water cooling system if so that usally means the engine has overheated due to no water circulating which will warp and bend alot of metal. alot of time that little $10 peice gets dryrot cause it was made from a type of rubber or plastic and it got really brittle and broke up causeing lots clogs and no water ciculation. There are way too many reasons for me to talk about why I would be very weary on this purchase. I had early 80's merc 9.8 same deal and it ran great then I found out it had all types of bottom end issues but it started and moved my boat so i didn't care. I did end up spending alot of time rowing that summer. I paid 450 for a rebuilt. I will never do it again. Im not saying not to get it cause it could be a great deal I am only saying to C.Y.A. (cover your butt) Its a very old motor and it could be a last resort to recoop some of the costs it has created for the owner.

you always had multiple suppliers it was set up that consumer's or union (you local distribution centre) chose them for you. They purchased three month blocks of energy at a time so they were whatever the demand (market) dictated. sometimes good sometimes bad.

Its the same as hydro there are alot of transmission charges that make up your bill. The cost for gas delivery is anywhere from 11c to 15c a m3. I am fully aware of a deregulated energy market. so if you want answers I can get them for you or help you with a bill. But remember to go to energyshop.com and see if you have saved money in the last couple years on your program first. Sometimes depending on demand for energy with a a program you are paying alot less.

Ashes ..........OK..... plastics.....no way.......paper....no way..... I think anything that could harm the wildlife or not endup "melting" into the environment should not be put there. Does anyone know about the gangees river? I am ok with cultures and beliefs I am just not paitient with people for whatever reason destroying the environment. Im sorry if I am going to offend anyone with this but my culture (west indies) trinidad has alot of of hindu religion and all I have to say is that if you plan to contiue culture and beliefs here to please be aware of the affects on everyone else or the canadian culture.I dont think that they should be allowed to out offerings into the water, I think they should be charged with littering and be sentenced to clean up the river. I also feel that the church that allows this should be fined aswell. I know that this is harsh but I don't think if I threw litter into a hindu backyard it would go unnoticed. The fact is no matter what your culture is or who you are it should not be allowed and you should be dealt with accordingly

Dont know if what i did was a good idea but I guess i will find out now.... I put all my plastics in ziplock sandwich bags with some sea salt. I found that if I store them this way they don't stick together and are easy to pull one out of the bag at a time. I don't know if this is right but it seemed to make sense to me when I did it. I don't fish with plastics often but when I do I like that I am not pulling a mess of stuck plastics together out.

Hey Huk,,,, don't know how good my advice is but it works fer me... I find that if you use a stiff rod with a little or no strectch line it will make life alot easier with the jerk or twitch action. Also I know this sounds weird but I also sing that little mexican number la cuka rachta....... lol...... while I am retirieving. I retrieve to that "beat" or pattern of the song and I get some killer action. Thats were the term bookoo got started for me.. getting some boils or tail slaps from VERY aggitated fish when I'm retrieving like that.

I am getting the combo with a one peice rod too at BPS total price I think is 199.00 . I am glad that its a good real I have had only one quantum before and I gave it my friend on the water one day when he broke his reel. I had the quantum as a "extra" but he never gave it back.lol ( he doenst even catch fish haha mittzu). Thanks for the input guys. I will be using mine typically for team ten to beat the rest of the teams lol. Im getting a little too edgy waiting for open water.........

Thats ruff.... I really feel for animals that end up in the care of people and then don't make it. I hate the idea that we(people) might of caused what it died from. But atlest it had a better chance... Sad day.. But again the circle of life continues. I would be happy to help with any "found or abandoned" animals this spring sp please anyone that ends up in this situation please let me know I have a lot of contacts for this type of situation. Or call the second chance wildlife centre.

Not for ultra light im getting the mid size 13 oz.... Its the same size as a shimano 2500 series. I just hope its worth it. I had a spirex for a couple years now and its been soooo good to me. I know its not a high end reel but its been a good reliable reel i even have pulled in a coouple carp on it! I also use a shimano citica.I have had it for a bit too. Another great reliable reel.

Just curious if any one has heard anything bad about this reel. I bought a little one from tech tackle.... It seems like its a good deal and I am just curious if anyone has one or knows anything about it?

bring lots of plastic bags......... it might be the only way to keep your feet dry..I don't think its a good time on the ice this weekend. oh yeah wear a life jacket.
