Tony....take your shirt off !!! Good job guys.

Nice Shayne!!! Tell your young lad congratulations for me. I got lots of fishing pictures...but my all time favourite is of my son holding a 7-8 LB Muskie he caught on Pidgeon when he was a little guy probably around the same age as your son. It was a really colourful fish and he had a smile from ear to ear!!! Time with your kids on the water....priceless. Thx for sharin.

lol...thx Tony...that was a good one. Glad you still have a sense of humor. Getting your butt kicked by your little sister and all ...must be a tough pill to swallow...lol Meely/Tony keep the pictures and reports coming. Nice to see you get into them.

NICE !!!!! Congrats to Lisa and good on you 2 for putting her on her first Musky. Nothing better then taking someone out and them having a good day. P.S. Tony, put your shirt on!!!

Wireless carriers to add text charges
crappieperchhunter replied to kickingfrog's topic in General Discussion
A modern convenience we all must have it seems. Watched the "sickness" first take my daughter, followed by my wife and most recently my son. So far I have resisted getting a cell phone. No real use for me, so why bother? If I needed one for my profession then I would have it. I figure I have about 4-5 circumstances a year where I really wished I had one. But I can't justify the cost to myself for those 4-5 times. Look up the word cheap in the dictionary...there is a smiling picture of ME. As soon as my wife/daughter told me receiving text messages was "free"...I said that will not be around for long. First they get you hooked and then they reel you in!!! Your best hope is that competition will keep prices reasonable, but it appears telus and Bell are already "in bed" together to ensure they continue to take as much out of our pockets as they can. The others will follow....it is just a matter of time. -

WOW!!! One huge fish you got there!!! I fish crappies quite a bit but still have never managed one over 16 inches. Record or no record, it is the catch of a lifetime for sure. A mount or replica would be beautiful. Well done! -
Meely that brute you are holding sure is a beauty. Looks like a good time was had by all....BUT...PLEASE...no more pics of Chewbacca..er..I mean Tony, shirtless!!! Well done Guys.

Like Ron at Little Lake I have noticed a decline in the numbers at my "Swim" in Caygeon. Best morning this spring was 7 landed, but last week on vacation I got skunked 3 times and that has never happened in June over at Carp Point. Average size is way down as well. Typically we get a majority of the fish 18-23 LBS..this is a guess...this year 8-12 LBS. It's to bad if a die off is happening over on Simcoe. Never like to hear of a die off of any kind. Might have to get the boat out and chase walleye and bass again. Haven't done that during the summer months since I started Carpin.

A co-worker says this all the time...Everyday is a school day. Also an old neighbor always said "Knowledge is a good thing, and it's not heavy to carry around with you either. -

Catch alot in the spring fishing for perch/crappie. A buddy I took asked me to start throwing the bigger RB in the basket. That night I did a taste test. Perch/Crappie and Rockbass all filleted and fried up separately. Perch was #1, Rock Bass was #2 and crappie was #3. I was very surprised, and have kept a few rockies every year since. However these are fish from cold spring or cold fall water. RB I have had that where caught in the heat of the summer where not as good.

Nice job. The picture looks like Scugog. If it is I guess some survived the die off last year.

What is your favorite bug spray?

If you are sitting out at home...plug in a fan!!! Seriously...it works real well. Debbe and I discovered this a few years ago while trying to sit out one evening and enjoy some time on our front porch. Just like a windy day...lotsa wind....no bugs. However 2 fans would be optimal as a few of the little buggers figure out how to sneak up on you on the leaward side of the fan!!! Other then that go for the highest DEET you can get, but be warned this stuff is NOT good for you. Better to plan outdoor time around those little buggers schedule/peak season's -
Number 4....enough said.

My attempt at revenge.....Brookies

Beautiful scenery and a beauty report. I just love the colors on Specs. The "cloud" of bugs around Todd made me think of Pigpen of the Charlie Brown cartoons. No offense to Todd...it just came to mind when I saw the picture. I also noticed the Folger's "worm can". Got the same one here in my fridge at home. THX for sharin. -
Nice job Tony. Glad you guys got into them. Sounds like alot of fun, I'm going to have to give it a go sometime.

If everyone started posting topics like this. I for one wouldn't be a member here much longer. Unless you are involved in this personally and know ALL 3 SIDES of the situation...Side 1 what person A said, Side 2 what person B said and side C...the truth, I don't feel the public has any right to get involved. Lets just go fishing and leave them to sort it out. -
Good outing Rich. Can't be fishing in shorts and T's and hauling them in every time out. I think I recognize the location of your first 2 pictures...but I won't tell. BTW I think I lost my sunglasses down there the night I was out with you and the "BOSS". Take care and keep the reports coming.

Maureen I have owned them all. From higher end expensive toys to low end stuff that only lasts 3-4 seasons of hard use. Personally I have found Diawa reels to last me the best. Dollar for dollar I think they make the best product. I used to get the higher priced stuff but found that it makes more sense for me to grab a $60-$80 ballpark priced reel and then just replace it every 7 years or so when I feel like treating myself to a new reel. As a matter of fact my latest Diawa was a $44 reel I picked up in Gagnon's in April. Spooled it up with 4LB line and did all my spring crappie and perch fishing with it. Really like it so far, but I have only had it for about 6 weeks so I can't say how it will stand up. It's up at the cottage right now or I would give you the model number. Good luck choosing a new reel Maureen....lotsa stuff to drool over before you decide. Have fun with your new combo once you get it out on the water.

Good luck with getting a few whities Meely. I'd help you if I could. BTW did you find any bolts and get your transom saver hooked up?

Love the colors on those little stream brookies. Thx for sharin.
