Looks like a nice portable windbreak. I gotta Fish trap pro... which is perfect for the fishing I do. So I would have no use for the windbreak...but I'm sure some folks will find them handy. Good price too IMHO.

porable ice fishing shelter
crappieperchhunter replied to livinisfishin's topic in General Discussion
I have a Fish Trap Pro which is a roomier one man flip style. Fits in my VW Golf no problem with the back seats folded down. Measure your car for space before you do anything and if you can fit a flip up portable in that is what I recommend you get. A little more money....but a far more user friendly hut. I have had both styles of portables, and would never go back to a hut that is not flip style. Whatever you decide, good luck when we get some hardwater!!! -
I get it! The couple packs of meat i gave you a few weeks ago wasnt enough lol I can take a hint Steve That's me.... subtle.... like a ball peen hammer

Looks mighty fine!!! 2 garlic cloves ...lol...I'm with Misfish. Start with a bushel of cloves and work backwards from that if you have too.

SWEET !!!! Seems you have it figured out. If you are short on freezer space...I can store some meat here for you. No charge Tony...and I will promise that MOST of it will still be there when you come to get it back Congrats again on a successful outing.

Jack(Nanook) As long as I am up Caygeon way you can count on a fishing buddy. In the big picture of things I don't really know poop...but I still like to get out. BTW I still haven't had a chance to see the new pup. Maybe once Debbe and I get back up in May. Crappie opener next April is really not that far off. I have a fishing buddy who is 88. Just think about that. Don't get out together as much as I would like, but I sure enjoy it when we do. I just pray that I will have the "urge" that long. Tightlines to all CPH!!!

fall carp from a carping newbee
crappieperchhunter replied to spinnerdoc's topic in General Discussion
Nicely done spinnerdoc !!! Carp are pretty much all I chase from the end of May until the end of September. I just plain enjoy it. Then it's fall perch and crappie mixed in with some steel and eyes until we get ice. Glad to see someone is keeping the carp honest while most of the rest of us are occupied with something else. Only those with the same addiction can appreciate your enthusiasm. Keep up the good work and thx for sharin. -

Banning cell phones & GPS in cars ??
crappieperchhunter replied to lew's topic in General Discussion
A different angle here....would we not have the technology to have phone jamming gizmo's installed in all vehicles. Problem solved and no enforcement required. -
The neighbour behind us planted a cedar hedge years ago and always kept it nice. Well he passed away 2 years ago and no one has maintained it since. The widow is an elderly woman and I waited to see if family or whoever would take over the upkeep. Since no one has I finally decided to step up and take it on myself. Got a pair of manual hedge trimmers yesterday and tackled it. Only took about and hour and it actually looks great if I do say so myself. Since doing this however I have had a few thinks to think about. Firstly what is the proper time of year to trim a cedar hedge? I started to think I may have caused problems by doing it in the fall. Winter kill perhaps? I didn't butcher it up,trimming off mostly new green leaves, not many actual brown branches. But I just don't know when or if there even is a proper time. Secondly who is actually responsible for the upkeep of a hedge? If a neighbour planted a hedge and you didn't want it in the first place or where unable to do any upkeep ,are you still responsible for your side or the top or whatever? I like having the hedge there and I actually really enjoyed hacking away out there yesterday on a beautiful crisp fall day. I much preferred it to painting a fence. If anyone has any hedge expertise and can answer either of the points I brought up to ponder, it would be appreciated

A Joke that would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. NF

45 years old and I have never voted, prolly never will. Why? Because I feel it is pointless. With elections happening as frequently as they do, I feel that the politicians work harder to get re-elected and not to offend anybody rather then rolling up there sleeves and doing what really needs to be done. How can you honestly expect to effect change if you get voted out in 4 years and the new party tears down your plans before they can even hope to accomplish anything? The whole system is flawed as far as I am concerned. I have always worked hard and managed to squirrel enough money away to survive whatever the government tries to put us through. If you are sitting around waiting for the government to solve all your life's woes be prepared for a whole bunch of disappointment. I have nothing against anybody who votes. It is your right and good for you for exercising it, I just choose not to. My father who always votes says " If you don't vote, then you have no right to complain". I kind of agree with that. So I just grin and bear it and then move on. -
Good job Cliff !!!! Now you just gotta get some kinda harness rigged up for Andy, so he can haul it out for you next time.

Went back to bed cause the weather was poopy? Can't possibly be a REAL FISHERMAN.So the poor lad isn't getting any....AND he has stopped fishing. What the hell would be the sense in crawling outta bed everyday? -
Jackie must be a good woman to tolerate you for that long Debbe and I hit 24 years a month ago....gotta long way to go to the 50 CLUB. Congrats to you both !!!

Everytime my folks get a new dog they say this will be the last one. Can't tell you how many times that cycle has repeated itself. I think pets...dog's especially...keep you young. You don't get the "Mans best friend" tag for nothing. September 12 is shaping up to be a fine day!!! I wish you many happy memories with the newest family member.

Congrats on getting a home. Now the fun begins!!!!! As far as getting stuff for your house...do a google search for " freecycle". It is a site dedicated for people to get rid of..or get... stuff for free. There are sites all over. In the last 3 years I have got a number of things for my home and cottage and quite a bit of stuff for my daughters first apartment. And it's all free. Check it out and good luck with your new home.

Those Who Target Big Carp Regularly
crappieperchhunter replied to Rich's topic in General Discussion
Tried both. Don't like the braid for a mainline because you seem to tear alot of hooks out of fish and tear up the mouths more of the ones you do land. However you loose alot of feeders to Zebras and rocks. I have settled on 17LB mainline with a 5 foot section of braid that my feeder rides on...and then back to a one foot section of mono that my hook goes on. Seems to save me alot of tackle with more landed fish and damages the fish less as well. Seems to be workin for me. -
Another nice report Meely, thanx for sharing. Youz guyz gotts it figured out.

Looks like a good little vacation to me. Did the Warsaw Caves with my kids when they where small. I remember it was a very hot humid day. One little cave in particular was very cool...felt like an air conditioner was on. Could have stayed in there all day. Thx for sharin. It brought back good memories of my own.
