  1. Gave up Beer when I became diabetic. My blood doesn't like it at all. But I have only ever had a few that I really disliked. Generally if it's cold it's a GOOD BEER. The only time I have it anymore is the few swigs I enjoy while I'm making beer can chicken...which I JUST happen to be right in the middle of at this very moment I use to drink Black Horse Ale back in high school. You could take it to a party and throw it in the fridge and NO ONE would touch it. Now you can only get it out east. Not a micro beer but I really did enjoy it. Sorry I'm no real help with this thread. I just felt the urge to be in "Beer" mode.
  2. Thx for posting that Cliff....it just made my day too Just another reason this is my favourite fishing site.
  3. I'm happy to hear your taking the rug rats down home this summer Shayne...I know it's been on the to do list for quite some time. Take lots of pictures and be sure to share them on here...Misfish isn't the only one who appreciates seeing them.
  4. Just to add...this chair is on for 8.99 at Canadian Tire this week...just noticed in the flyer now
  5. I love fishin the JUMBO's. Beauty pic. Thx for sharing.
  6. Yes and she speaks highly of you... and of you as well Beansie She however hopes Tony gets spooled by a monster whitie his next visit to Simcoe
  7. A couple of winter back I treated myself to a St Croix ice rod reel combo because my daughter got me a gift certificate for a local tackle shop...and I didn't really need anything. Approx $70 for the combo. The combo is my most expensive AND least favourite of all my ice fishing gear. Especially the reel...completely overpriced junk IMHO. Never again.
  8. Glad everything went off OK Cliff. Now relax and take it easy...I know that will be hard for you... so the recovery process does what it has to do.
  9. Would this be classified as DUCT PORN
  10. Debbe calls all my fishing buddies I have met through fishing sites...my internet dates. She has met about 75% of them personally...the other 25%....what she doesn't know won't hurt her
  11. All the above I already know. We have a good crew at work and a great boss...so when he needs us to pitch in... we do. And when we need a favor in return he almost always helps us out. I just threw this on the board to let my fishing friends know that my winter weekends just got messed up again this winter. But it's an inconvenience I don't mind. Walmart is what it is. I can only appreciate what they do for me.
  12. Nice to hear of #1 customer service like that. Thx for sharing. I'm just too cheap to pay for a pair. My $10..at the time... glasses have served me well and I've had them for years. Can't see the point in spending more.
  13. YES just joking...but when I do sell my stuff..I only take Timmies cards for payment
  14. I got the Mary question...it was easy...I know both Mary and her father Actually got them all....but I won't tell anyone that I have saw this quiz before Thx for sharing it Brian...I love this kinda stuff
  15. http://ca.yahoo.com/_ylt=AhX9xwy6MgPG4OP9UqrzcwIt17V_;_ylu=X3oDMTJwaG83OHUwBGNwb3MDNwRlZAMxBGcDNmM1MjM3MTQyMDk2Yjg4YzQxZmU4MzcxMDk5YjcyMWEEaW50bANjYQRzZWMDaW5fbmV3cwRzbGsDbndzLXRpdGxlBHRlc3QDNzE1/SIG=13lovblbk/EXP=1296137229/**http%3A//ca.news.yahoo.com/wal-mart-canada-plans-open-40-supercentres-next-20110126-040541-656.html Where I work we do ALL there printing for them. Our boss called a departmental meeting yesterday and asked that we commit to at least one overtime shift every weekend for at least the next month to deal with the volume we will be getting from A new store opening. This morning I read the above link on Yahoo. Looks like it's going to be much more overtime then a month's worth. Anybody wanna buy some of my ice fishing gear? Cause it looks like it won't be getting out of the basement much more this winter I'm happy for the work...but how do they keep doing it? Love them or hate them. Whatever it is they are doing...they sure are doing it right. If we had them for a customer from the time I started with the company...I probably could have retired 10 years ago
  16. No one wants to pay Bruce...but given a choice I think most would rather pay then lose access. Like I mentioned in my earlier post though...existing infrastructure can rule this out in a lot of cases.
  17. Nice job big guy I actually drove all the way to Innisfil today and then turned around and drove all the way back home. The Golf was acting a bit weird...fuel gelling up maybe it has happened to me before and I thought leaving it out in the cold all day would not be a good idea. 280 KM round trip and I never got my gear out of the car. But at least I saved myself $10 on parking
  18. Well Emil I hope you enjoy the beer and the fish fry tomorrow night...it sure sounds like you earned it. I had a similiar day a few winter's ago on Couch. Deep snow with about 6 inches of slush/water underneath. On the walk back in I was running on fumes. I was literally counting out steps and stopping for a rest every 100 steps. NEVER again.
  19. Life is more hectic and advanced for each generation IMHO. Things where definitely simpler then.
  20. The pig farm I worked on had a disgusting fridge in the barn. Normal people I'm sure would look at it and not even think of opening it. But the farmer kept my favourite pop...pepsi..stocked in it for me and your right...NOTHING tasted better at the end of the day then a can of pop from that fridge.
  21. Nice work bushart. I grew up doing all kinds of farm work. Pig farms, chickens, turkeys even worked in an apple orchard. Did more then my share of hayin. Is there anything more disgusting then the black crusty snot you blow out of your nose after a full day of tossing around dusty hay on a hot summers day? I wouldn't trade one second of it though. Farming and working the land is good for your soul. It's something my kids missed out on growing up in the city...and I have always thought that they missed out on some real good life experiences.
  22. OK I'll play the devils advocate. Saw this happen years ago in Keswick. Witnessed a women change her kids diaper and throw the dirty diaper on a residence lawn and then walk past a porta pottie and 2 garbage cans to get back to fishing. I think that kinda stuff just pushed the locals over the edge...and can you blame them? And don't kid yourselves what us anglers spend while there fishing is nothing compared to what the residences pay in taxes just to live there...not to mention they spend most of there hard earned money there EVERYDAY. So IMHO the local politicians are doing what is best for them and there constituents...which obviously doesn't work out to well for us out of towners. I don't think complaining at the local level will have any impact at all. Federal maybe your only hope...but with the way infrastructure is already in place...I won't be holding my breathe for that to work either Myself I just move onto more friendly waters where I am welcome and there are 1,000's and 1,000's of such places still available. This feeling of entitlement because well " We have always been able to fish there" I'm afraid is slowly going the way of the Dodo bird. Not trying to start a pissing match...I just see the other side... and have a less entitled attitude then most.
