  1. Ahhhh......moira....right....DUH!! I knew I knew the lake, just couldn't put it in place. perodimi, I'd join ya anytime!! Thanks for your input! Sinker
  2. I agree with Joey.....what do I win? I think #1 is crowe lake, now that I think about it. That would be the crowe river on the north end you can see in the picture. Makes sense with the way the pictures were taken as well....crowe, round, chemong, scugog river, scugog lake.......you missed sturgeon and pigeon....the 2 most important ones..... Sinker
  3. Oh......cool pics BTW!! Thanks for posting those! Sinker
  4. 1....not sure.....pigeon maybe? 2 is round lake near Havelock 3 is scugog river.... lindsay is the built up area 4 is Chemong, that's the causeway at Bridgenorth. 5-6 are scugog.....looking south over Ball point towards Cesarea 7 is scugog.....looking at the North end of the island.....far left is ball point......see someopen water there.....yuck! 8 is scugog looking south towards port perry.....that's the west side of the island.....Kings bay on the right 9 on top of the wing is looking down towards port perry. 10 Kings bay on the bottom right, Goreskis marina just right of center on the west shore of the island 11. Almost the same as 10, but you can see the mouth of the Nonquon river on the right hand side...... Sinker
  5. I just called around to 3 marine mechanics in my area, they ALL told me not to run a filter if I pre-mix my fuel/oil. Good chance of burning up the engine. One guy told me that sometimes the oil will get separated in the filter as well as the water....?? I'm just gonna run mine like I always do, my gas doesn't last long enough to go bad. I'd do something different if my gas was sitting around for a while though......... Sinker
  6. That's the exact same rigs I start with.......don't usually have to change it either. Good ole white twister will catch fish anywhere ya go! Sinker
  7. Mine is a Mariner as well. Mechanic told me not to worry about it.....just drive er' like always Sinker
  8. My marine mechanic told me to stay away from the filters. Same thing, starving the engine. I just make sure my gas doesn't sit around very long. How long does it take to separate? That's the question we need answered......and I'm sure there are prolly a million variables to the answer. I haven't had a prob, and I'm burning gas with 10% ethanol.....or so they say.......I just add 2 oz. of stabil to each tank and give er' ..........I mix it in the tank myself.....50:1 mix. A tank doesn't last me more than a week.....after that, I take it out and burn it in the lawn mower Sinker
  9. The only thing that compares to them for sensitivity is a perfectly set slip bobber. I used to always use the tip ups, but the last few years I've been running slip floats......I like bringing them up with a rod and reel. The floats also work better outside on a windy day. Can't beat them in a hut though.....just breath the wrong way and it will move!! Sinker
  10. Yes bye.....dat looks some shockin good! Where the peas puddin?
  11. I've got a green eskimo quick flip 2.....behind an arctic cat puma 2 up. I'm the tall guy in the red/black floater with all the fish piled up Sinker
  12. Apparently it separates the oil from the gas? And it attracts water into your fuel system? I've never had a problem.......but my gas doesn't sit around too long. I also add stabilizer to each tank......apparently it helps. This is only a concern for 2-strokes. Sinker
  13. I think this new reg has been written wrong myself......but.....who knows with those guys. Regardless of whether we have to register them or not......is it really that big of a deal? Just call in, get the number, print it off on a piece of paper and stick it in the slot on your portable............not that hard really.....is it? So you may have to get different numbers for different lakes.......oh well........at least its free. The Clams have a plastic slot on the outside to put the numbers in........don't they? My Eskimo does anyways...... I won't be registering mine unless I get warned by a CO first.......I just don't see any reason to register a hut I'm taking in and out each trip. A lot of times I don't even put it up......I just use the sled to carry my gear out..... Sinker
  14. Ah.....a man that knows how to pick a boat
  15. Must B nice!!!! Congrats! Sinker
  16. First thing I'd do is take those glasses and shove them right up his
  17. I pay around $200 for my 16 ft, with a 40. Mine isn't worth what your new one is though....... Sinker
  18. They are the ultimate predator.....that's why there aren't many pictures of them. All cats are sneaky like that.....how many lynx do you see? There's lots of them around. I have no doubt there are more than most people think around these parts. I saw what I think was a cougar years ago at Lingham lake. I'm not 100%, but it had a real long tail and the colour/size of a deer.......what else could it have been? I"d only shoot one as a last resort.........but you'd prolly never know it was coming anyways. Not something I'd be worried about when I'm out in the woods......they know your there, and stay away. I'm sure they have enough to eat. Sinker
  19. Nice Chessie!
  20. I'd say all the water on the ice, widened the holes under the hut.....ended up eating the hut. First thing I do if there is a thaw is move the hut off the holes until it gets solid again. Water rushing down a big hut hole will get HUGE in no time. Looks like the ice around it is safe enough. Hope they mark that hole and get rid of those blocks......that could hurt! Sinker
  21. I just order from Cabela's......so easy.....and usually cheap. If its just small stuff.....I stay local. Been to BPS twice.....walked out empty handed once! First time I went there specifically for an item....in and out and gone! Sinker
  22. I hook up a small light bulb to mine so its not just sitting there......then charge it when I notice the light getting dim. Just keeps the battery cycling all the time. Sinker
  23. That's the perfect set up right there. Not too big, not too small. Curious about the power on it though? I'd need 2 boats if I was gonna upgrade......I'd kill that lund duck hunting in no time.......but I can't keep 2 Congrats! Sinker
  24. If your planning on using it in a boat, I'd stick with a graph and not a flasher. The flasher is great for icefishing, because it is in real time, but I wouldn't want one for openwater fishing from a boat. The X67 will work well for both. Sinker
