  1. Another vote for the kirklands here.......great battery for the money. S.
  2. Ya, hospital parking is criminal. Last time I had to spend time visiting family, a ferw of us went in on a weekly pass. It was a lot more reasonable. If I remember right it was $46, come and go as many times as you wanted. The catch was they don't advertise it, I had to ask in order to find out about it. Saves us a lot of money tho...... S.
  3. Beauty! That's a great haul!! S.
  4. Looks like that's all the angle they could get. It has to be fastened to something (the dam), so that's all the angle your gonna get. Not GRCA's fault, and it wasn't their decision to install it either. Maybe the MNR engineer should have offered some suggestions instead of standing around watching. I saw about 15 guys there, and only 2 actually working lol. S.
  5. I don't think we've out grown fishing shows, we just need shows that are average joe fisherman doing their thing. I enjoy watching shows from new areas, and love the saltwater shows, but the bass stuff drives me nuts. The fishing adventurer, fishn canada, adventures north, and the musky hunter are the only ones I really "try" to tune into. I'll watch bob izumi if he's on and not bass fishing too. The spin on travel that the fishing adventurer has taken is a great idea, and makes for a great show IMO.
  6. Ya, I get sick of them all. I don't even tune into anything bass. I've been watching the fishing adventurer on travel and escape channel. No adds, just a guy who fishes some cool places for all different kinds of fish. Even the commercials a bad on wfn. S.
  7. Looks pretty straight to me........?
  8. Ok fishnwire, we get it. Your pro union. Move on. You do your thing, I'll do mine. I've tried both, made my decision. Glad to hear it all worked out Rich. S.
  9. What's the right way for the boom? According to you it seems bobody does anything right lol The boom is going to be a kid magnet if you ask me. Kids will be all over it! It. Will probably create safety issues, not prevent them! S.
  10. This is where you factor in the alcohol consumption.....lol.......im sure it will be a great day! S.
  11. Oh, I collected, but years after the fact. Its a long story. I've since done 3 years of college, have a dual diploma, and a new career.....so in the long term it worked out ok. I went thru hell to get here though. Just don't get seriously hurt! S.
  12. Just wait till you get hurt if you think its bad now. I paid 13 cents on every dollar I made for 12 yrs, then was seriously hurt at work, and had to sell my house and half the things I own to keep food on the table. S.
  13. I tend to agree with randy. The union is great for the slackers, and whiners, but the guys who do all the work, make the least money. I've worked for 2 unions, and will never, ever do it again. S.
  14. Counter might be in now. I was down there on thursday and they were working on things and doing training. GRCA put a boom across the river abovve the dam as well. S.
  15. Good stuff TJ! The run has stopped here. Its not getting cold enough at night. I finished 6 litres this week tho, so not bad. I'm hoping for one more boil before I pull the taps. S.
  16. I'll believe it if you make it thru the summmer, Cliff. In the meantime, if you need a hand with those docks let me know! S.
  17. The dark one is from two weeks ago, the lighter ones are from last night. S.
  18. Wow....that one batch is really dark. Ya didn't scorch it did ya?
  19. Nice haul TJ!
  20. I've collected 160 litres the last 3 days. Put 70 thru the boiler last night, but still havve lots to go. I haven't collected today yet either. Great week! S.
  21. Its a loooong story, and one I'd be happy to share in person sometime. Just. Don't get seriously hurt, and you'll be fine. I'm not talking a minor injury, I'm talking serious, permanent injury, from an accident. S.
  22. That sounds about right if you go by the 40:1 standard ratio. With my set up, I'm getting one 500ml mason jar for each 5 gal pail. You can't really do anything wrong. Colour will vary. Each of my batches have been different. I did 2 litres last night that were much lighter than the previous batches I did. It will go quicker if you preheat a pot full instead of adding cold sap to your already boiling pot. S.
  23. I boil mine to 220 or so. Once it cools I check it with a hydrometer, and its pretty much bang on every time. To get that much syrup, you should have started with about 60 liters of sap?? S.
  24. Last year was a crazy year, this is normal. I"ve icefished easter many times in that area. S.
  25. Hmm...I've never noticed vinyl getting hot before. Mine was light coloured though....I dunno.....I can't stand carpet in a boat. Silliest idea ever IMO. All it does is hold water and dirt. My vinyl floors are dry and clean in minutes. Carpet is wet for a loooong time, and never gets clean. It stinks too. S.
