  1. This sort of thing at my doorstep would absolutely get my suspicious juices flowing lol I believe i would have told him to "get off my lawn"
  2. Whos on first? Whats on second? and I dunno's on third?
  3. Fantastic.......the video really lets ya step into the experience. (and i know it still probably doesnt do it justice) Closest ill probably ever get to this place though
  4. make sure to take some dirt with ya.........free glow sticks for all those Toronto rave parties !!!
  5. Exactly.......i never have and never will understand it. Some of it is people who have traveled from Ohio/Pa/Michigan......etc etc, trying to get their "Gas money worth" of fish meat. Some of it is low income locals that see it as meat on the table. Some of it is braggin rights when they come home to show the neighbors. Who knows. Im really interested to see how this shakes out this season now that there is an official open report on it that has been introduced by the media The details of the story seem to focus on an area upstream from the dam, in the thin sections of the creek probably 10 miles upstream from the circus.......that may have people thinking its OK toward the mouth?? Well see Do you plan to come down still for the brown run lol ??
  6. I remember back in my teens, the creek bed was full of old saw blades from a mill at the top of the creek......long since rusted away, but still a sign of the lack of concern for the area. Depending how seriously folks take this news, (Again......not a huge surprise).........this may be the death of Burt/Newfane/Olcott
  7. So now, on top of the 2 bucks to park.......there will be a 3 dollar contamination clean up booth you'll be required to walk thru at the top of the hill before you exit the premises. Im not sure its worth the 5 bucks to fish anymore??
  8. is boy? (sorry....think only the locals would get this lol)
  9. This shouldnt come as a shock to anyone, Especially Niagara County Those of you who travel or have traveled south of the border for the salmon circus, may be interested in this.........5 families are in process of being relocated due to the contamination upstream http://wivb.com/2014/08/20/warning-issued-over-contaminated-creek/ This.... coupled with the fact that Oak Orchard is rumored to be fenced off at the waterport dam.......should keep lots of snaggers on the couch this year. (although i doubt it)
  10. OMG.....this dude is crackin me up lol. Reminds me of my nephew. Only now my nephew is 14 and starting to school me on the water. Wont be long before these kids are taking us on their trips
  11. Gander in Buffalo certainly has had its fair share of let downs for me over the years, i will say that they revamped the store and its in much better shape recently..... Having said that, our Cabelas down here opens up thursday and is a 5 minute jaunt up the road for me........hopefully they keep a relevant inventory on the shelves,...... we shall see
  12. My buddy has the dji model.......hes an ace at flying it now but the blades still have grass/leaf stains on them from his first few flights lol most people come around and watch ........but we've also been asked to "shut it down" on more than a few camping trips already as a select few are complaining about invasion of privacy.
  13. How soon is soon? The Cabelas opens up down here by the Galleria in about a month. Colvilles is a great little shop, (although highly tailored toward steelhead, so i dont know what his shelves are stocked with this time of year) Other Big Box stores..... U already know of the Gander on Colvin Blvd in Tonawanda (i personally avoid it if i can, too many occasions where they run out of what i need and dont restock......another time on that rant lol) Dicks at the Galleria has a pretty decent fishing dept. Theres a bunch of other small shops: See link http://www.yellowpages.com/buffalo-ny/bait-shops Big Catch and Russ's are on niagara st. right next to the 190 (not sure of your route)
  14. Right shloim, less money on gas, registration, insurance too lol
  15. Ill probably christen it with one last channel cat attempt on the cattaraugus lol.....see if i can get pulled around a little .....but the inland streams will definitely be on the list in the coming weeks
  16. I read lots of good reviews on the jacksons. And i dig the color scheme as well, it was one of the selling points lol.......as long as i dont kayak in the winter, everyone should see me comin
  17. All good lookin, nice clean fish..... Is all that Burton gear just wishful thinking for a cooling summer snow shower
  18. I shoulda clarified, Im in the states. One of the few "Yanks" on the forum lol
  19. After years of hmmmm'ing and haw'ing over the multitude of options out there , i finally pulled the trigger on one. WIth a lot of research, recommendation, reading reviews etc ......(some right here on OFC)........i landed on the Old Town Predator MX. Bought it online, free shipping and no tax (in the states) Its pretty slick with lots of mounting options for accessories, a comfortable 3 position seat, and lots of open floor space when stand up casting. and a stable hull design to allow u to do just that As many of you know, getting a new fishing toy to play with is like christmas morning all over again, only now we have to buy our own toys Ive put a couple little accessories on last night when i got it home (slide rail mount system, rod holder, paddle clip), this will get me on the water for now. Which cant come soon enough
  20. I look forward to your reports as much as i do Mr. Borgers...........Always stunning photos, of your entire surroundings.
