  1. Some great fish there gentlemen and Marc.
  2. Saturday I will hopefully be fishing in the morning (need the misses to change her plans) then dinner with my grandfather that evening. My job at work today got all screwed up (not my fault ), so lucky me I'll be working on Sunday.
  3. I made my own as well on my old tinny too. At the time I found it difficult to find anything panels in my area. Instead of a flat panel like Misfish I had a bit of a box around the switches to keep the rain off of them. One of my buddies built his switches into an old VHS case. The bottom was mounted like Misfish's and the lid hung down to keep the water out. Both of our switches were not water proof/resistant so we felt this was necessary but maybe it wasn't. Never had any problems with them. If I was doing it over I buy a panel with circuit breakers built in. I'm not sure if one brand is any better then the next but hopefully some here can help you with that. THIS might be of some help. They have a couple of locations in the GTA. The one in Oakville might work for you. I've found the one in downtown T.O. to be good but pricey.
  4. I have an old Humminbird that was great in it's day but the transducer died for the second time and I won't be replacing it. On our fly in earlier this year I borrowed my brother's Cuda and it worked great! It's less then half the weight of my old unit and the AA batteries lasted the entire trip. It's on my Christmas list for this year. Edit - I should mention that I used a piece of wood and mounted the transducer to that. Then used a C clamp to hold it on the transom. Worked like a charm and didn't cost me anything as I had the materials around.
  5. Come on Misfish!! Where are the pics?!!! Nice report Terry and I do believe you when you say you caught some fish..... Next thing we'll hear is that Brian's camera died.......LOL!
  6. Ill second that! Great report!
  7. That guy also finished 58th the second day. I'll blame the second day partner for that one. Imagine leaving your partner to go to the hospital. Great first day finish though! :worthy:
  8. Spilt my coffee on that one! LOL!

  12. Some last minute plans have come into place and I'll be heading to Lake Muskoka. A few days of fishing and R&R are on the agenda. Since I've only ice fished there once I was wondering what to bring and what I should be looking for. I've only got a short amount of time for fishing and trying to gather some info to save on fishing the dead water. I'm staying in a place on the Muskoka River and the lake looks to be about 2-3 miles out to the main lake. Will be fishing for anything that swims but will be mainly looking for bass, pike, walleye and some time trolling for lakers. Feel free to pm. Thanks in advance.
  13. Excellent report Pete! Congrats on your fish for the OFAH Awards.
  14. Thanks Tybo.
  15. A couple of my buddies have gone through that. They did the sonic wave thing to bust up the stones so they could pass them. I've had gall stones and felt that pain, hopefully never get the kidney stones. Speedy recovery Steve.
  16. Where can he find cans of ether? Name brands? Is there a substitute? Thanks for the help!
  17. Have a great day Roy!!
  18. Thanks for the info Zamboni, I'll pass it along. Some good stuff there.
  19. I should have mentioned that it's a 4-stroke. Thanks again!
  20. A buddy of mine had his boat sink with the storm that came through yesterday. I'm wondering what you would do with the motor to make sure there is no water in it and to get it going again. Should he take it to a shop or is there something he can do himself. Thanks in advance.
  21. LOL! Tell that to the puddle of oil under the van.
  22. Thanks Brian, PM sent. Edit - HEY!!! I just noticed that I'm now a fishing icon too! Post 1000! That sure took long enough.
  23. I've still got the truck so towing the boat is not a problem. It's just the unexpected repair bill. When are they ever expected anyways??
  24. Thanks HH. Right now it's parked at work, downtown TO. Parliment and Richmond area.
  25. Well just as my luck would have it, on the way into work this morning I blew the motor in the van. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions/recommendations/ for a shop that will fix it in the downtown Toronto to Oshawa area? It's a 1995 Dodge Caravan with a 3.3. I just bought it off my grandfather for next to nothing and figure it's worth spending some money on it. He had the tranny rebuilt a couple of months ago, new exhaust, and the body work done on it last year. The van is mint. Well it was a couple of hours ago. Thanks for your help.
