  1. You've got a pm.
  2. Joe, we're here for you. My condolences to you and the family. If you need anything, just give me a shout.
  3. I'll be arriving most likely Friday night with Headhunter. Hopefully earlier but work is very busy these days.
  4. Thanks for the tips so far, some great info. I'll pass it along to the others in the group. Thanks!
  5. Have to agree.
  6. Hello all! We are starting to plan our trip for next year and are looking for some recommendations. Walleye, pike, lake trout, any or all of the above. Somewhere in Ontario within a 7-8 hour drive of Toronto to the air base and fly in from there. We were with Air Cochrane last year and had a great time. I think we would go with them again but just a different lake. We did Floodwood Lake last time. The fishing was OK but it lacked some exploring opportunities that some of the guys like to do. (ie - connected to some other lakes, different species, mini adventure type stuff.) All input is greatly appreciated. Looking for places to consider as well as avoid. Feel free to pm if you'd rather. I should add that there looks to be 6 in our group for next year. THANKS!!!
  7. Just AWESOME Ron!!!! Congrats!!!
  8. Great fish there Cliff! Congrats on the another PB!!!
  9. Very sorry to hear of your loss Pikehunter. My condolences to you and your family. Your Dad would be honoured by your tribute I'm sure.
  10. I've got 2 of them. One that is battery operated and the other plugs into the cigarette lighter. Both work great but I can't remember the brand names for the life of me. I don't know that there is a way to extend the battery life because it draws the power needed to operate the bulb. I'm no electrical wizard by any means but maybe a lower wattage bulb. Lower draw, longer battery life??? When I couldn't find a proper replacement bulb for my unit I put in one that was 1/2 the watts and didn't notice a big difference (brightness wise) for my purposes.
  11. Well the fish may not have cooperated too well on Saturday for ya but you're certainly making up for it now!! CONGRATS!!!!!
  12. I'll make ya a deal. You can have the ice you want on the 3rd week of November in your neck of the woods as long as I can have open water in mine. Deal? We didn't have any safe ice down my way until the mid/end of January last season. Fishing from boats at the beginning of January!
  13. I'm with ya on this one Terry. I go with the flow of the seasons and don't complain about any of them. But Ice fishing in the 3rd week of November???!!! 2nd week of December..........maybe........ Don't get me wrong I want to have a winter longer then 4 weeks this year. It really hurt the winter tourism industry pretty hard last winter. It would be nice to see them have a great season. Now enough of this talk until November. It's 31 degrees outside! Get out there and enjoy it!!
  14. Congrats on the PB!
  15. Great report Joey! I haven't been on that lake for a few years now and seeing your report has got me making plans to get back asap.
  16. What Raf and Rick said. I don't mind using a short rod when out in the boat or when fishing a small creek or stream. It also depends on what I'm fishing for. The other thing that I noticed this year was what one manufacture would call a medium heavy action would be similar to another’s medium action. You've got to carefully check them out before you buy one to make sure it's what you're looking for. Don't go by the label alone. The night I met up with you and Cliff I was using a 7'10" medium heavy action Diawa Heartland walleye rod. It's telescopic baitcasting rod that has worked get for the Quinte eyes and that salmon from the other night. Note to self...get caught up on posting reports.
  17. It sure does look like a fire Raf.
  18. LOL! The last time we were fishing together I had the same hairdo. The fish didn't seem to mind. Cliff - EXCELLENT report as always. Thanks for taking the time and effort to put it together. With my day yesterday you'd still be waiting for the report. lol! Great pics too! And yet another great day with the King and Queen of shorefishing. Nice to have them out again. The conditions were tough but if you're only going to get a few bites then you couldn't ask for a better day. I was a bit concern when Bly showed up with her trout hat on but she did manage to keep up with a pretty fish. I'll see if we can't get you two into muskie next time out, I'd gladly take a skunk for that to happen.
  19. Greatl report! Heck of a smallie there Bill! Congrats!
  20. Some cool pics there. I tried some similar stuff this summer using the macro feature. I'll have to did up those pics to share.
  21. I think that we've all order something from BPS or Cabelas at some point in time. I'm wondering if there has been anyone making a major purchase like a truck, boat or sled. With the dollar being what it is and after surfing the net, I found that I can buy a truck for about 10g's less then what I would pay for it up here, even after duty and taxes. Any thoughts?
  22. Welcome!
  23. CP24 has reported that all east bound Go Trains have been suspended indefinately. I'm glad I drive into work. The fire has also been upgrade to a 5 alarm.
  24. Heads up for your commute home. Three Alarm Blaze Raging At Victoria Park And Danforth Thursday September 20, 2007 CityNews.ca Staff Thick black smoke is wafting out over parts of the city as a major fire is burning at an auto wrecking business on Thora Ave. in the Victoria Park and Danforth area. The effects of the three-alarm blaze, which was first spotted just before 2pm, can be seen for several blocks as it continues to burn. There have been evacuations in the area on both Emmitt St. and Thora Ave. for safety reasons, as it's unclear exactly what's burning at this point, and those living nearby have been advised to shut their doors and windows. Crews continue to fight it, and police are warning motorists heading to the area to expect some closed streets and delays, as emergency vehicles access the scene. Fire
