  2. Hi guys, Just want to circle back because we did end up going to Rock Pine--appreciate the suggestion. The resort is really nice, particularly the cabin. We found that fishing near the cabin was not nearly as productive as spots further up the channel and closer to Georgian Bay, which we suspected would be the case. Unfortunately we had a quite a blow the last day, which kept us off the water a good portion of the day. Overall, caught a lot of pike (none of great size), a lot of smallies, and some largemouth from bays.

  3. I had to show you guys a couple shots of a pair of mallards on Chestermere Lake just east of Calgary I was lucky enough to get pics of. The best ones I've taken in many years. I just wish they were sharper but the ducks were going up and down from the wake of a speed boat and the floating dock I was on was also going up and down as well, plus I had to zoom in as far as the camera would go which also doesn't help when it comes to clarity and sharpness. Aside from that I couldn't be happter with them. Every thing else is perfect especially the color and the under water shot of him propelling himself along. Maybe London Drugs photo labs can sharpen them up for me. The first shots they are having their after breakfast nap, that is until they noticed me. Threw in a couple extras of other birds. Darn, aside from the raven on the bushnell trail cam the last ones aren't as sharp as they should be ither.

  4. Seven trail cams untouched for 93 days, I guess I should say six trail cams, I couldn't find one as I was in territory I'd never been in before and my GPS quit working. Sucks as that is where I seen the wolverine last trip up. Anyway, here is a few of the 2000+ the cameras took. Not all dates and times are set correctly on some of these cameras.

  5. Finally made it back in. Been an incredibly busy first half of summer.. almost 8 weeks of steady company threw wrenches into Camp plans. However.. we're starting this year with some new gear. New CRV, new aluminum trailer.. and most importantly a new Honda Rubicon. Covid had put much of our new equipment plans on hold but business is back to normal again.. actually better than ever.. so it was time to get er dun. My old 4 wheeler 2001 Rubicon was getting a little old in the tooth.. and will now be retired for farm duty here at home. I'm seeing big rides in my future as I've also staked some claims near camp and will be taking out my prospecting gear once again.. only this time at my leisure. So Monique and I headed up on Monday and thankfully this time the bugs had subsided.. two weeks ago it was near unbearable. Monday was hot so put in a tiny ac that we used to have for the tents.. worked like a charm and didn't hardly stress the genny. I took a day for a big ride down to the area I want to go over which is nicely accessible. Also got up close and personal with a big bull moose.. huge rack and completely covered in velvet, and the rest of the time was spent chilling on the dock, eating and of course trolling up and down the river a couple times a day. Fishing was fantastic.. nothing big in size but 20 to 30 pike and bass per run. All barbless and c and r. We spent a bit of time at our pickeral spot one evening and managed three eating sized ones not very big.. put about a dozen put back but we've never in 15 years landed a big one in our stretch of the river which remains a mystery to me. Brought the office with me as well and was able to spend a half hour a day keeping up with customer service. Also late last year we invested in a new fish cooker and a cast iron wok. Wings and fish are staples for us up there and I got to tell ya.. what a job that thing does.. also made myself a nice 2 in thich white pine cutting board for fish cleaning outta the bugs lol.. anyway here's some pics. Enjoy.

  6. Went to Meaford for kings. Not much on the finder. Ran new gear and everything worked great. Big Jon electric is really fast compared to my old one. The big Jon free and easy release works ok and I got one fish on it. I’ll have to try it again to see if I’m going to keep using it. 2/2 on lake trout. Nice morning out.
