  1. I've been driving for longer that pretty well everyone on this board and have always used winter tires and in my opinion they make a huge difference in both moving and stopping. We've all been stuck behind someone who is trying to get thru a snowstorm with summer tires and it's really maddening. You can also lose control of a vehicle on snow covered roads when using summer tires and slam into some other car. Quebec has a rule that all cars must have winter tires but I don't know the dates. Winter tires are very expensive and many folks can't afford them and personally I don't know if they should be mandatory or not. My neighbors were both in their 90's and money was short and they couldn't afford winter tires but 1/2 the time he had trouble getting out of his snow covered driveway. I'm just curious what others think, should they be mandatory or not and if you think yes, what about the folks that need their car but don't have an extra bag of $$ laying around to buy them.

  4. This bird gobbles no more. I had planned to do this meal on Christmas day but just ran out of steam and ambition so I had it yesterday. The wild Turkey breast got an extra 24 hours in the OJ, Teryaki and Garlic marinade before I floured, egg washed and bread crumb coated it for the air fryer. The picture is of only one breast that I had to cut in half for ease of handling (friggin thing was huge, completely filled the air fryer!). I barely ate a quaarter of the one half, but it was delish, nice and moist and full of flavour. I will be eating up this Turkey breast for a few days I'm sure.

  8. Managed to squeak in an hour at the bridge after getting all my Xmas shopping done for another year, good way to unwind from the madness. Got a walleye supper out of the deal too.

  9. Started on this piece this morning for a long time customer/friend. It's a rare piece of stabilized Douglas Fir that had been hit by lightening. I'v made much progress on it thus far but it is proving to be a piece that will require much TLC if I'm to get it to completion.
