  1. Alrighty then! I stopped posting on this site because of asses making replies like this! You want to disagree, fine, but try being a little more respectful and a little less of an ass!

  2. Hey gang, I took a long break from the board but I see a lot of familiar names still here. I hope everyone has been well and catching lots of fishies. Does anyone have a line on any live leeches? I know it's late in the season but I'm hoping to get lucky. I've called dozens of bait shops with no luck. If you know of anyone in the Durham/York/GTA area, please let me know. Alternatively, if there's someone in the Peterborough area, I'll be fishing nearby in a couple of weeks. Thanks

  3. Difficult to find leeches after the end of September. Once the water temp is below 55f or so, they roll up into a little ball of snot and are not too active...not very enticing to fish. So not much demand for them, hence no one's selling them.

  4. We stayed a few years ago at https://www.wajashkcottages.com on the Nipissing end of the French River system. We were there in June and had a lot of success with walleye and even had some random Muskie excitement. Lots of eater sized walleye in the 2-3lb range. Cottages were simple but clean and quite inexpensive. We had our own private dock in front of the cabin and they sell gas and bait. Would go back for sure.

  5. When given a choice to fish Nippissing, I generally fish Nippissing. So many species and generally readily available. Even though our camp is closest to Lavigne, I usually drive the extra 15 minutes and fish the east end. I’m mainly a pickerel fisherman and that’s where really good fishing is, although we get plenty of Pike and Bass on the east end of the lake as well. Weather (winds) can be a factor though and west end is probably a fair bit more protected than main basin. I made at least one hairy ride back from the Manitous this summer. I have heard that you don’t need to run as far out for pickerel in the fall from the west end, but that’s just from talking to guys at the Lavigne boat ramp. I really only know the area around Lavigne on the west end and that’s good bass and pike country, I don’t generally target pics around there. Not a musky guy though, so can’t help with that!

  6. I fished Memesagamesing for a weekend 20 years ago. A bunch of dink Smallmouth, but not much else. But who knows, things change. West Bay/Arm of Nipissing is a great multi-species fishery...lots of water to fish and shots at big Musky. Just make sure you have a chart, and follow the "travel routes"... the prop repair guys love that water...

  7. I think your right Terry, the motor will still crank but won't start with the kill switch off.

  9. You can also check to see if the kill switch is engaged. (Safety switch usually connected to your wrist)

  10. Leah and I took her guest into town today to get her on her way home. Lakeland's houseboats were coming in at the same time and while wishing our guest a safe drive home I kept looking at this guy on the street beside his jeep and boat on a trailer and he at me. He finally said "Wayne?" and walked over. Chris took the high road, shook my hand and apologized for the nonsense that the two of us got into a few years ago and I reciprocated and thanked him for same. A great but short meet up, but was good morning as life is way too damn short for grudges!
