A few weeks ago Madjack contacted me regarding an opportunity to go on a trip to Temple Bay Lodge up near Dryden. I decided to go and boy am I glad I did. First I have never been on a fishing trip that was better organized; Everything from where we would eat, at what time, to who would drive and when was pre planned. Jack didn't miss a thing, motels and restraunts had all been carefully chosen based on years of experience. The lodge was wonderful, we did the American plan and the portions were huge, in fact we had to ask that they gave us half portions because we just couldn't eat everything and neither of us like to see food going to waste. The fishing was incredible, walleye, lake trout, bass, pike, muskie, and perch, and the numbers were nuts. The guides were the best I have ever seen, knowledgeable, competent, attentive, I have never been treated that well ever before. I have been fishing for a long time but these guys taught me a lot! They are truly pros! Anyway, this trip will be one filled with wonderfull memories and set the standard for trips to come.

Gifted my oldest grandson with a couple of river gifts. He has become quite the river rat. Seems to be following in the steps of poppy and his dad. Dad and son have have been having a great re bonding. Brings joy to my heart. He will grow into the new stick, a pin will be a couple years away, but a spinning reel will do for now.

Yes that will be the moment of truth. I have now bumped it up from trickle charge to 6 amp charge. Plan to do that for a couple hours as apparently that overcharging will help equalize it

Now comes the real test, will it hold. Once you turn off the charger, don't hook anything up to the battery, let it sit for 24 hours and then check with your meter to see what the voltage is.

Get that boy an RSG for that rod.

so after 11 hours I tested it and it had gone from bad battery to weak (10.6 volts showing), this morning (at the 19 hour mark) it is now showing good battery (13.4 volts)! The interesting thing is when I tested it the first couple times the battery tester got hot. Even smoked the first time. Now that that battery seems to be recovering the tester did not get hot while charging
