petersaban Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 Will be fishing Point Au Baril for the first time this weekend. Where would be the best place to launch the boat and park the truck for the day? My buddy provided me a detailed map of the route I should take to hopefully avoid the many hidden rocks. Thanks
BillM Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 If you don't have digital charts, you better be going slow. 1

AKRISONER Posted October 24 Report Posted October 24 (edited) Some of the local marinas charge quite a lot to launch. Personally Id recommend my old neighbors Brian and Hilda Rolf at "the moorings" at the end of northshore road. Brian is a really nice guy and the parking is wide open. Take it easy if you are navigating the area for the first time. The area is beautiful, drive slow and safe, watch your chartplotter and take in some scenery to find the same route to where you are going. If you head into the shawanaga river, be sure to avoid the shoal in the narrows before it opens up. Edited October 24 by AKRISONER
