John Bacon Posted October 8 Report Posted October 8 Does anyone know if this is a fuse? Or perhaps a thermocouple? My gas dryer doesn't heat up. This item has resistance, so if it is a fuse it's blown.
dave524 Posted October 8 Report Posted October 8 google lens says it is a fuse and the centre area should be filled with black epoxy and probably a thin lead strip https://www.ebay.com/itm/164838245538 1
Weeds Posted October 9 Report Posted October 9 (edited) Can’t help you with any advice but it could be worse, just discovered this evening that my 4 year old furnace isn’t working! Six bucks for that fuse looks promising Edited October 9 by Weeds

The other question could be what high current draw caused the fuse to blow? I'd suggest doing a real good clean up inside the back of the dryer and a good washing of the filter screen, specially if you use dryer sheets that leave an invisible film on the screen that blocks airflow and causes over heating. John Bacon Posted October 12 Author Report Posted October 12 Thanks guys, I cleaned out the dryer and replaced the fuse. It worked fine last night. Hopefully it will continue to work for a while.
