Hi all,

It’s been about a week since our bay here on Lake Wabigoon froze and stayed frozen after numerous false starts due to really unusually mild temps. Was pretty confident it was safe as since it froze 24hr temps have averaged below zero, little video below……

been trying to get there all fall and keep getting re-routed due to winds. This time we are going for it. Its a huge wind but we are on the south shore and its a south wind so we will see. Worst case scenario we go to the Thames instead...but man I hate the Thames.

well we went for it and it worked out fine. Winds were maybe less than predicted and very fisheable. Water temps were 36 degrees and we caught two, lost one more. We only saw one other fish get caught by the 7 or 8 boats fishing the same area. Nothing huge. Sorry to hijack the thread but figured you would like to know! Caught ours casting rather than trolling.

Thanks for the update, not hijacking , we are in ‘General Discussion’  after all :) , but I am jealous that you get to cast for musky and catch a couple too, good job!
