LostAnotherOne Posted March 5, 2021 Report Posted March 5, 2021 I saw him once in the Walmart plaza in Brantford. We nodded at eachother while we passed one another. He just seemed to have this energy about him. He's an icon here in Brantford and no doubt the town is mourning as well as the nation.
Headhunter Posted March 5, 2021 Report Posted March 5, 2021 Canada's hockey Dad! Such a class act, he will be missed. HH
GBW Posted March 5, 2021 Report Posted March 5, 2021 (edited) He was at Waye's Golf event many years ago and I was working for Samsung who was a sponsor so we weren't aloud to do all the typical 'fan' stuff. I said to Walter I would love to have a picture taken of me with you and Wayne when he's off the course but I can't. When Wayne made it to the clubhouse I was outside and all of a sudden I hear my name being called out over and over. Walter grabed the media photographer and Wayne and they were looking for me to join them. I will never forget that. Edited March 5, 2021 by GBW 6
John Posted March 6, 2021 Report Posted March 6, 2021 100% class gentleman who had time for everyone particularly youth hockey players. Met him a few times at tournaments. He would stay until everyone had said hello, got an autograph etc. Walked him to his car one night after a game. Can't say enough about him. RIP Walter.. 2
