musky666 Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 Hello, I want to re- rig my outboards, main and kicker, by moving wIring and cables under the rear deck as much as possible. Rear deck plates are off, and I can see where I want to run everything, but how difficult is it to remove and re-route then reattach everything? Hydraulic assist steering- pretty sure I can simply bleed air out after reattaching. But cables and wires to motors- straightforward to trace and remove?
John Bacon Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 I don't have any experience. But I suggest labeling the cables, hoses, etc. and also labeling where they are attached to the motors.
DRIFTER_016 Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 Cabling us pretty easy. There are usually one or two multi-pin connectors under the engine cover that need to be disconnected. Then there are the throttle and shift cables, fuel lines and battery cables and of course steering.
musky666 Posted June 4, 2016 Author Report Posted June 4, 2016 Got it all done, really straightforward actually. Cleaned up rear deck some and much neater. Thanks for the encouragement! Mike
wkrp Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Take lots of pictures of hookups before you take anything apart. You know the old saying.
