Boat motor problem

Recommended Posts

I bought a 14' aluminum with a 20hp, last owner said is from the 90s, took it to the water fishing today and the motor is pulling like crazy to the right, it literarily hurts my hand holding it.

Anybody had this problem before?

I'd appreciate some advice.

Thanks!

Turn your trim tab (fin) to the right a little at a time 'til it feels right.

Good one Roy. Also there are screws to tighen up the movement of the motor it,s self.(moving it left to right) I found this out the hard way. Taking a motor that was used by a steering wheel, then putting on a boat as a tiller.

Is the motor super easy to turn when not running.

Thiers adjuster screw. It's on the shaft that the motor turns on. Get that adjusted then mess with the trim tap.

What I was trying to say. Thanks. Im sure he understands you better. :clapping:
