Joey Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 Nice, a bit out of focus but you'll get the hang of it B
misfish Posted December 27, 2014 Author Report Posted December 27, 2014 Need to use the tripod more J. Thnaks I was going to use gallery, but left it.
Rodbender Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 Try something slower than a whistler Gulls are good for BIF practice as for a tripod I'd be a mangled mess trying to use one on BIF
misfish Posted December 27, 2014 Author Report Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) BIF? Bring in focus? LOL That shot,I seen the bird flying. Got a head of it and waited for it to come into the shot then snapped it. Edited December 27, 2014 by Brian B
BillM Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 Birds In Flight. You'll wanna pan with the bird instead of waiting for it to get to a certain spot then taking the pic. Unless you can use something like a 1/2500s shutter speed
Rodbender Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 BIF? Bring in focus? LOL That shot,I seen the bird flying. Got a head of it and waited for it to come into the shot then snapped it. BIF Bird in Flight when I take them I track the bird keeping the focus point on the eye and don't stop moving follow through
Rodbender Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 And just when you think everything is right good light great full down stroke of the wings far enough away from the back Ground the pic this size it looks good but look at it 1:1 and nothing is in focus
misfish Posted December 27, 2014 Author Report Posted December 27, 2014 Ok cool got ya,s thanks. So the setting I posted,do I want to change anything or add to it? This what I have to use. I want to get the best out of it I can. Photographing is fun,but spending big dollars is out of the question for me. Fishing gear comes first.LOL

Rodbender Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 for that camera I'd put ISO on auto put it in Shutter priority start at 1/1000 and up I like 1/1250 to 1/2000 select the centre focus point it's usually the fastest and the biggest thing is practice Practice practice Notes help too and if possible have them going side ways with the sun behind you You'll get alot that go in the trash bin
misfish Posted December 27, 2014 Author Report Posted December 27, 2014 Thanks. I,ll be out Sunday trying again. Lots of water fowl around here right now.

Rodbender Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) You got me excited now. LOL If your out tomorrow and some ducks are just swimming around close change your setting to Arpature Priority and set it a F8 focus on the eye I never use my camera in AUTO I want to be in control not what the camera thinks I want shutter and arpature priority are semi auto you pick the shutter speed or arpature and the camera picks the other for you Also a biggie here that i forgot about use the buit in light meter should have lines on the bottom of the viewfinder when you look through it make sure its centred or a tiny bit to the + side then your exposure is good Edited December 27, 2014 by Rodbender
