Mistaflyboy34 Posted September 29, 2013 Report Posted September 29, 2013 All the sudden my pin isn't spinning that smoothly anymore and making a little bit of noise. It would be great if you can't tell me whats wrong.
DRIFTER_016 Posted September 29, 2013 Report Posted September 29, 2013 You have a little bit of sand/grit in it. Remove the spool and give the spool and backplate a rinse with water.
Richie Razor Posted September 29, 2013 Report Posted September 29, 2013 What kind of noise is it making? Is it a grinding noise? Most likely it is caused by sand or grit in between the spool and the backplate. Take of the spool and use a cotton swab or an air duster to get rid of and grit that might have been trapped in the reel. Try not to dunk the reel in the river and you won't have this problem.
misfish Posted September 29, 2013 Report Posted September 29, 2013 I just took mine apart as it was grinding. Rinsed it with warm water and mild soap. Used a q tip to clean the rim of the spool and back plate . Yup they were dirty with sand. Oiled the bearings and good as new.
BillM Posted September 29, 2013 Report Posted September 29, 2013 Probably dirty. A good dunk in some clean water will fix it right up.
