steelhead75 Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 here is a bad picture from my nightly smoke break a 100 miles offshore in the gulf of mexico, as i sit and puff away on my marlbough light. this what i get to watch with frustration and dreams of being able to cast a line. unfortunatley it is not allowed to fish from the vessel. as the fishing line gets in the thruster seals and its a multi-million dollar fix. theres hundreds of tarpon out here rolling from dusk till dawn chowing on shrimp and flying fish. i can only dream of belize and nicuragua tarpon.
steelhead75 Posted August 30, 2013 Author Report Posted August 30, 2013 (edited) i work on this bad boy , its a heavy lift construction vessel . our present scope of work is installing and hammering in place oil platform jackets in the mexican waters of the gulf f mexico. the large crane has a lifting capacity of 1,600 tonnes. accomadation of crew members is 296 when maxed out. theres four meals a day on here and the galley never closes 24 hour a day working operations.
